West Region Semi Final (5:00 game):

 

Briarcrest - 3

St Agnes - 1

 

Game was 2 to 1 at the half with Briarcrest scoring their 3rd goal in the middle of the 2nd half. Great game to watch!

 

In the other west region semi final which started a little after 7:00, ECS and SBA are tied 1 to 1 at the end of regulation in a very fast paced game. They are now in the second overtime period. SBA scored about 2/3 of the way through the first half after ECS had primarily had possession earlier in the half. ECS came out stronger in the 2nd half but was unable to score the tie goal until near the end of regulation.

 

In the first overtime period, ECS had the best chance at goal.

SBA and ECS stayed tied through both initial overtime periods with ECS prevailing in the end with a goal in "golden goal" OT....final score 2 to 1.

 

Thursday West Region pairings:

 

5:00 - St Agnes versus Saint Benedict for 3rd place and birth at substate

 

7:00 - ECS versus Briarcrest for region champion and for 1st or 2nd seeding at substate

Wow. I just read about this game on the chattanoogan.com. What a thrilling finish for Boyd and a heartbreaker for Silverdale. Silverdale was up 2-0 with 4 minutes left in the game. Boyd scored 2 quick goals to send it into OT and won in OT. Congratulations to Boyd for not giving up with just minutes left. My heart goes out to Silverdale to lose that way. But kudos to them being just a 2nd year program...and congrats to Boyd.

Congratulations to Baylor. Your defense was very dominating as usual and our goalie made some good saves to at least keep the score 2-0. I just don't see any weaknesses in this team.
