This should be a great game. Both teams with nothing to loose and everything to gain. I think a win for either team would be a big boost for next year. I look for both teams to come out running the ball. Both have good offensive lines and can move the ball on the ground. Turnovers might be the difference in this game.

GO CHIEFS !!!

Sequoyah 39 Meigs County 14 Final

The game wasn't even that close. Sequoyah's defense smothered Meigs all night long. I'm pretty positive in saying if Sequoyah leaves starting defense in, Meigs doesn't score. They crossed over midfield to the Sequoyah 49 once in the first half and they started that drive on the 50 from a good kickoff return. #57 and #37 stepped up the D last night.

That was the best #23 has run all year.

Way to finish strong Chiefs!!

You are right, Sequoyah was in complete controll of this game. Way to finish out the year Chiefs. Gonna miss this group of Seniors, its been a joy watching you guys. Through all that you have had to deal with, you guys have done a great job. I also agree that #23 had his best game of the year. The Defense played awesome, Meigs coundn't move the ball at all against the 1st unit. The offense was equally impressive. Breeden had his best game, I also thought that Moser had his best game, White had a great game also. Oline had a real good night. I also think that the Chiefs have found themselves a Reciever for the next couple of years, #2 (Bell) had a real good game. That was a heck of a catch he made on the sidelines. He has looked real good the last 2 games. Thank you Seniors & good luck in all that you guys go on to do. To the rest of the team, work hard and get better, get back in the weightroom don't let that slide. Next season will be here before you know it. GO CHIEFS!!!

Congrats to the Chiefs, great finish to a troubling start on the season. To the players, keep working hard and believing and the playoffs are very realistic next year. See you guys next fall!

Your right Warchief, these seniors have set the standard and the future looks bright, wish these guys were in the playoffs, but they went out on a great note. The best way to describe it was "total domination" by the first unit! It got a little ugly toward the end of the game, frustration was setting in for Meigs, heard some of the Tiger fans really bashing the coaching staff, the only thing I can tell them is give him time!

Steinhardt had a great game and season also, and he will just obliterate offenses next year! Think he should make all region, along with White and maybe Bell. Next year looks very promising, with three on line returning and lil Bell got some time the varsity. The JV this season did pretty well, and Rogers will be fun to watch next season. There should be a big group of freshman coming in, 19 from Madisonville, not sure about Vonore, but I do know they have a big bruising back in Cody Steel. Steel and Huffman, could compete for playing time IMO. Congrats on a great season and lets take it to the next level next year! GO CHIEFS!!!!

Steel will be accompanied by a shifty-fast running back by the name of Casey Denham (Shea Owen's little brother). Only eight total eighth graders playing at Vonore this year. Mostly Oline possiblilities other than those two.

I agree about Sterling. He became an emotioinal and physical leader on that team this year. He and Topa make a great pair of LB's returning next season. With a large portion of the Dline returning, we should be able to play with anyone defensively.

Already looking forward to it.

GREAT JOB CHIEFS!!!!!! dominate, dominate, dominate. 33 to 0 at the half!!!! I don't think there is any question to who is at "least" the fourth best team in the region is. The double wing set can eat you alive when you have a QB like E. that can read it and the O-line understanding what they are doing. Great Great job. What a catch by B. Bell! Kid is going to be a player. Sterling, Josh, Dusty,Topa, Shea, Zach and others have got to be leaders now. Take a couple weeks off (dead period} and then get your butts in the weight room. You have to set the example and DEMAND the rest of them follow you. Set the tone NOW. ALL there eyes will be ON YOU! Lead by example. It is the easiest thing to talk the talk, but what your teammates need and will respect is when you walk the walk! Football games are won based on what you do from the Middle of Nov. till summer camp. You Seniors are a super group of young men. I know that many of you will go on in life and do many great things. I expect nothing less. It has been my blessing and benefit to have been around you. I am a better man for having been able to watch you guys grow into outstanding Young men. I will never forget you. I am in the phone book if I can "ever" be of service to ANY of you. I pray for

God's blessing on you all. The torch has now been passed to you underclassmen. Continue the fight, listen to your coaches and walk the walk, demand excellence out of each other, be accountable for your desire, effort, commitment and being a good citizen in and away from School. Remember EVERYTHING you do is a reflection on your family, team, school and community. Congratulations to the coaches for pulling the team together and thanks for your many hours of hard work and commitment to the kids. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

    • Problem with DB football goes beyond coaching. Like Waco said. Thr band is the main focus of their community and school. They have the resources to be a championship level team. Guarantee Ballard or Witten could have them nationally relevant at some point but everyone down to peewee would have to buy in and at DB we all know that would never happen.
    • I know the RB from OR he’s fast and has good hands. Is good on special teams also. Didn’t want to play defense over to the Ridge.
    • Lieutenant Flip flops is on a roll. #1 recruiter in Anderson Co, fo-sho.
    • Has there been any effort to contact college coaches other than Trevecca?
    • 5star put out and article about the QB competition for Clinton like they have 9 other schools. They listed a QB that was previously on Powell’s roster last year. He was the Frosh that could throw great wearing number 5. He was not mentioned as a transfer.  HC was quoted in getting two running back transfers one being from OR that has been mentioned on these boards as well as another from TKA.  I had heard about these and more transfers. It is impressive that Clinton is able to steal away from the recruiter at Powell.  I wonder if the issue with the principal will change that or open the gates even more.
