No there will be 16 districts for football just like basketball, baseball, softball and volleyball are. District 13-AAA or Region 7-4A for football (which is what Munford and Brighton are now in) will still be District 13. They will just divide the teams into 5A and 6A for football. The district should look like this for football:

5A-Dyer Co., Hardin Co., Jackson North Side and Munford 6A-Brighton, Henry Co.

You would play every team in your district regardless whether they are 5A or 6A. That leaves 5 non district games to play and the first tiebreaker for wild cards for the playoffs next year are total wins. Don't be surprised if some of these teams schedule a lot of "winnable" games to strengthen their case for the playoffs.

If the first tiebreaker is total wins, why would you not schedule winnable games? I would be surprised if teams didn't do that.

I don't know it could just be me ... but I already don't like what I am hearing about the post season set-up with the new reclassification. Is it just me?

I think Henry Co. is going to 10AAA where they will be with the Clarksville schools. That is where they play in other sports and I could be wrong but thats what I've heard.

It's not just you. Looks like teams should try to load up on creampuffs to help get to the playoffs. That is not how it should be. If Germantown and Whitehaven are not in the same district, why would they play each other when a loss could be devastating to their playoff hopes? I think this is just bad.

It seems to be a two-edge sword. Playing down will not strengthen a team for competition against better teams, meaning possible early exit from playoffs but if the goal is just making the playoff, it could be the difference of going and sitting at home.

No doubt about that, just ask ECS this year. Played down every game except four conference games and went 1-3 in the conference. Now we're sitting at home just watching.

I too see Henry playing with the Clarksville schools. My question is, what are the possibilities of Bartlett (now 5A) being put in the region with Hardin Co., JNS, Munford, Dyer County. Also, what will happen to Brighton? Will they move to a Shelby Co. region, or will the tssaa move somebody like Millington, or Bolton into the region and place Brighton in the region also so that there will be 2 6A teams here. I'm totally confused. Anybody have any ideas?

Lets see, naught from naught is naught, carry the one, pie r round cornbread r square. This is the STUPIDEST thing T$$AA has done in a long while. Did the guy who invented the BCS sell an idea to the T$$AA?

    • The amount of people pooing on UH is crazy. They're a noticably better team than last year when they made state and were competitive , AND they run ruled Eagleville a few weeks ago. Now I understand Eagleville was missing a few guys, but they still. They. Run. Ruled. Eagleville. 1st single A team to run rule Eagleville since when? Pre 2017??
    • If that Yellow Paint is all gone I'll flat bet it didn't wash off there. I bet that took some scrubbing to remove that if it is gone. Lacrosse is one of those northern sports all these misplaced Yankee's that are posion to the community brought in by  (Blount Partnership, ( The Devil) with them so somebody allowed them to paint their markings on the field that cost more than the twenty top people on payroll at Maryville make a year. All this to please the 1% Club and the 25 people that would come to see it. All in the name of WOKE!!!!!!
    • They will probably, struggle
    • Dyersburg is going to be good, really good. As mentioned, they have a lot of talent on the way and the trio of Chelby, Joya, and KayKay will only be better with a full season together under their belt. To me, playing in Murfreesboro two consecutive postseasons will only serve to make them more dangerous if/when they stand among the final eight teams this March. Experience, good or bad, always makes you better. And not only do they have experience, they know how to win there. Schedules are coming together for all of the teams and I am excited about what I am seeing on the preliminary drafts on Dyersburg’s schedule. I know I am being a tease, but it’s simply not my place to announce what another school is doing. With that said, I won’t go into specifics. However, I am excited about renewed home and away contracts for the non-district portion of the calendar. I think west Tennessee will have a lot of interest as well.
    • What does everyone have in the final 8? In no particular order. 1. Eagleville 2. Gordonsville 3. Greenback 4. Oakdale 5. South Pitt/ East Robertson-- not sure 6. Richland 7. Halls 8. Union City
