How are most teams going about scheduling? Do you play larger schools with better teams to get better...or do you play teams that are weaker to win for playoff seedings? What is the mindset? By the way...I won't discuss Trousdale anymore. That's a moot point.

I think that in most cases you will be forced to play weaker schedules. Look at our district, Tyner beat BBS, BBS beat Marion and Marion beat Tyner. BBS won on their district on wins, losses but Tyner still went to play-offs. If you look at the next year district, and your team is a 3A team playing 4A teams to determine your district, games are counted against you for loosing against a 4A team. If I am correct if your district only has two teams then your team may only get in by overall record. Especially, if the other 3A team is a power house like Alcoa. In most cases I would schedule weaker teams

Leave it to the T$$AA to simplify things! /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

Then...you have the problem of getting weaker teams to play. Most won't unless they have to. I think it will make it tougher for seeding purposes. It will be possible to have one or no losses and still not be the #1 seed in a quad.

I was giving MC a hard time earlier but I was also truthful. In their district they are 2A and the only other 2A team is Signal Mtn. Signal is going to be hard to beat with 700-800 students for a 2A team. MC will also have SP in there district. I would say it would hard for them not to loose 2 games each year so they will have to get wins somewhere. With their great fan base they will sell tickets regaurdless who they play. They have their football team on the right track but those to teams is a uphill battle for anyone. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

Gates and distance might factor in too.

They absolutely will. That's another question. Do you play up for bigger gates even though you know your chances of winning are lessened? It's a

double-edged sword. You play up to get better...but it may cost you dearly in seeding. I think the answer in somewhere inbetween.

You have to at least play your rival game that might be against a higher classification team.

I'd schedule same class teams out of district as much as possible for apple to apple comparisions if I'm a border line playoff team. If you're going to get in one way or the other most years, you might upgrade your out of district schedule. There's a risk involved if you lose too many of those games however and you're in the smaller classification in your district.

Heard last night some crazy things are going down in the so called "Super Regions" where they have 8 or more teams. Should be some news come out on it today.

You just wait they will get playoff preference or something that gives them a better chance to make the playoffs. Nobody cared if those of us that play in ten team regions now had a hard time making the playoffs and a school with a loosing record got in. TSSAA will make a mess some how you just wait and see.

    • We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.
    • I like the Pirates chances. I’ll be there as soon as work allows.
    • Stars, I heard we were searching far and wide for some math teachers. Any chance their kids bench press or 40 times are getting checked? LOL I’ve heard good things from 825.
    • I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.
    • I'm from Cloudland and we've never played a sectional game.  We need to win tomorrow night to avoid that bus ride.  Us and north greene can play with you guys so I'm expecting good games whoever the matchup is.
