assuming they paid the fine, looks like he didn't need to sit out two games. Again, they still don't know the rules. It's easy to find.

Section 9. Coaches Ejected for Unsportsmanlike Conduct

A. The school and coach will be required to submit a written report of the incident.

B. The school will be given a choice of removing the coach for a specified number of contest(s) and pay a fine of $250.00 or face further disciplinary action. The school shall not allow the suspended coach to attend games while under suspension.

C. In addition to what is presently required when a coach is ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct, a meeting shall be held with the coach, principal, and superintendent, or his/her appointed representative, with a report on the meeting and plans to directly address the matter to be filed with the state office by the principal.

D. On any subsequent ejection by the same coach, the school will be given a choice of removing the coach for a specified number of contest(s) and pay a fine of $500.00 or face further disciplinary action. The school shall not allow the suspended coach to attend games while under suspension.

E. Other non-monetary penalties may be assessed by the Executive Director based on all the facts.

I do not know anything about the Temple coach as a person either good or bad so I cannot make a judgement about his integrity or anything else. What I can say is that this is unfortunate because it shows perhaps his inexperience as a liability at a school that should really have NO MARGIN FOR ERROR after the things that have gone on the past couple of years. Not knowing the rule is not a good answer and if it was ignored for the benefit of the program that is even worse. Either way someone needs to be knowledgeable and in charge at Temple and it appears that is still NOT the case.

Another issue many of you are not aware of is that the officials have to report the ejection to TSSAA. If it is unreported you don't have to sit. Coach Marcum tried to contact TSSAA to find out if the incident had been reported and they did not return his call b/c it was around the Thanksgiving holidays. When he finally did get an answer from TSSAA he sat the next game. If you read the TSSAA website the number of games penalty is a little unclear, and it's hard to tell what applies to players and what applies to coaches. Besides, the TSSAA has more important things to worry about, like how many shirt tails are hanging out during games. Those are the points of emphasis they are most concerned with. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Actually you have to pay the fine AND sit out games. It says so right there in part B. The vague part is how many games. That is not spelled out well at all.

If that's the case, we just wasted 2 pages of this thread 2nd guessing the guy. Sounds like he handled things well.

It was a very good and exciting game tonight over on 3rd St. CSAS has a very quick and athletic team. Their quickness compensates for a shortage of experience. They did a good job of pressuring Temple. Both teams will continue to get better over the course of the season and I am confident that the next game and any possible game after that will get the same result as tonight's game. Temple showed a lot of character and tougness on the court. If they could tone down the unforced errors and turnovers, they would unquestionably beat any team in Chattanooga (IMHO).

Howard ame together against Brainerd this weekend. The young Tigers are loaded with guards and I know someone is gonna say that temple beat them is a scrimmage but that was with the football players coming back with only 2 days of practice and the football player are the best players on the team. Calvin Ross can play with anyone in the city
