PATRIOTMAMA
Just so the record is correct, Trevor went 7 for 9 on extra points after the injury. He also made a 32 yard field goal against Smyrna (Patriotmama, he didn't miss, remember as that tied the game at the time). The injury probably hurt his accuracy and distance, he wanted to be part of a state championship football team, so he went to rehab, braced himself up, and scheduled the surgery for the Monday after the championship game. While he may be down because of the surgery, he is looking forward to the championship ring. He is a junior and has said he will kick next year (based upon this year, I wouldn't put it past him). Thanks for correcting my stats! I have a birthday with a "0" coming up and so I'm just going to claim a senior moment! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Know that Trevor is my prayers each day and let me know if you guys need anything! whatnow
Do you honestly think that Oakland, 3-7 in '07, 4-6 in '06 and 2-8 in 05 & '04, was picked by ANYBODY to be in the playoffs in 2008? Oakland probably worked as hard if not harder to get to this point in the season and you just can't let it go that they actually outscored Franklin. I am sure that nobody on here would disagree with me in saying that neither team just slid into that game on Saturday by not working for it. Both teams very much deserved to be there and I have the utmost respect for both coaches that obviously were able to inspire their respective young men. Please stop belittling Oakland's incredible journey with your posts about how they were not the better team and that they didn't deserve to win. They did. It was amazing. Franklin has nothing to hang their head about, either. Can't wait until next year so we can do it all again! hey mama. before you quote my stuff. see why i put that in their. ok mommy. it was wrong for one of the oakland fans to talk bad about Franklins coaches. It is just an Oakland thing! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

You could be right.......we have awhile to wait. Alsup went to the state 3 times in the 5 yrs he was at OHS. Remember that was with privates mixed in and only 3 classifications. So in my opinion, that was a much harder feat than what anyone today will have to deal with. Marty also won with Rankin at Riverdale...and Mc won't have to go up against Rank-dog at the top of his game at RHS. Bet that several of his assts. will be offered head jobs in the future. My money is on Kris White to be the first to get his shot. He deserves a shot and in my opinion could be a better catch than Mc.

(numerous times) How can you not see it........Oh well....too late and congrats to Oakland. TSSAA will be getting a complaint from me. I guess they got robbed every time that Oakland ran the ball in the final 7 minute drive and Franklin could not stop them. Franklin is a good team. They fought hard and came back to tie the game. But in the end it was the Oakland linemen that moved the line of scrimmage every down in the final drive. There was no finesse in that drive. Two tight ends and all of the backs were in the backfield. Franklin simply did not have the pounds on the line to stop Oakland. Be a good sport. Franklin lost. I would bet you any amount of money that TSSAA does nothing with any complaint that you have other than get the paper and place it into the trash. The good news is that every team is undefeated in 2009 at this time. Maybe they will play again.
