The 1st half we seemed to score pretty easy, what did KC do the 2nd half to shut us down?

Ok, I've been waiting to see if anyone would post comment about WH play-calling in 2nd half. Our passing game was virtually put back on the bus with head between tail! We continued to try the run up the middle with no success. Yet we did this over and over. I don't think there was one REAL passing play called in the 3rd quarter, most of the 4th! I always thought you stick with the one that brought you to the dance. IMO the coaches gave up on the pass too early. They cost us the game! I understand they threw for an interception early and threw a bad pass, but this has been going on all season. Yet our team always answered back with, yes, passing, passing, running, passing!!! It worked, and worked well for us all season long! Anyway, when we FINALLY went to passing, and I mean passing, not screen pass, we scored with ease! Just too little, too late. I just don't understand why it took so long for the coaches to see what I had known all year! It's like they went to sleep at the wheel in the third and didn't wake up til we were running out of time. So for everyone out there that has commented on Mitchell's coaching last night, (I was screaming at the TV the same thing! How can you possibly change your game when it was winning the game for you! Was he trying to show their QB could throw the ball, too? Never mind they couldn't catch it?) I digress, KC has definitely been fortunate 2 games in a row in this aspect. Yesterday might have been different team for Mitchell to give the Title to had we stuck to what we knew works!

yeah we are excited to play you all two. Even though we are close, i really don't know anything about farragut football. It's great to play you all because probably half of our school lives out there. When are we playing? I think week 2 (technically week 3 because of week 0) but i'm not positive. I really want to see what we can do next year when we play "the big boys." But we will save everything for later like you said. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Well not "big boys" anymore since HArdin Vally takes all our kids now. But yes i believe it is week 2. Should be a fun game we will be a little down but all of our athletes will be back. Oh and congrats on the Gold!!

Yeah Hardin Valley does affect things alot for you all. I definitely feel that that will be a factor down the road. And I have been reading up on you all and you seem to be getting your athletes back, but the o-line is questionable and same for defense if i'm correct. But don't get me wrong, it will be a great game. This is just from what is on coacht, so please forgive me if i'm wrong. Do you know where we are playing?

I will NOT say anything positive about the football academy at Catholic but i will say congratulations to Region 2 for winning the tittle yet again. All they needed was one non throw flag on the last 3 plays to beat AC to win the title good for them.

O Anderson County... always complaining about something arent ya? 5-0 against you all stop crying! o and 15-0 state champs! At least all the other teams we play dont complain about the game whether its a win or a loss please just face it you will never beat the Irish EVER! 5-0 AGAISNT THE MAVS!

I agree with you both. I believe he is an excellent coach and play caller. Not gonna say anything bad either. It just appeared like he lost a little faith in QB's throwing abilities during third quarter. So maybe I can seen their point of view. Been to all the games. Seen bad throws all year. Seen him throw it back at 'em, too. And come out on top! One or two bad throws don't equate abandoning game plan. Certainly can't lose faith in those WR's! The run certainly wasn't working well that night in those series. Then again, could just be disappointment from a loyal fan who really wanted to see the boys get to the 'boro. I know I sure did! Notice when the post was written? Maybe just having an off moment! Can't blame 'em! I've had better weekends! Anyway, Keep The Faith! Time to get ready for next year! /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

I guess money can buy championships. Your right you all have owned us since you came into 3A but my god you should have, when you take players from all over east tn you should win. You cant honestly say you deserved that win a few weeks ago, you got it but you didnt deserve it. If not for a couple idiot officials you lose.

I heard if Anderson County blames the officials one more time for losing, the TSSAA is going to take the state championship away from Catholic. As for buying a championship...... Don't hate the player, hate the game.

So every player in the Anderson County athletic program (past and present) is from Anderson County. Since you can't beat Catholic they HAVE to be cheating. It's time for a new tune. That one is getting old. I'm glad the Irish are moving into a new district, hopefully these teams won't whine as much.

This is entertaining to me... You all complain about everything the funny thing is that your only excuse is the refs thats all you say if its 37 to 7 you still complain if its 35 to 0 and if we win by a touchdown or so you still complain just face it you lost and you will always lose to the Irish for the rest of your life good luck in golf season or vollyball thats the only sports you really own us in... which is quite embarrassing dont be jealous that we win and you lose! I guess those bonfires don't help too much and how do we buy championships and recruit i think Larry Kerr knows a little something about getting players like the two coaches on their staff that played for them back in the day but o well we got the Gold Ball and it looks very nice in our Trophy Case good luck trying to get one in the near future!

Didn't realize that AC zone extended up through Caryville, LaFollette, Powell, Bearden West, etc. That's the pot calling the kettle black.

I'm sorry, I can't hear you...I've got a gold ball in my ear!

To all the Catholic haters and Knoxville Catholic High School haters: stop hating on Catholic. We don't recruit, we just win.

If y'all keep going, Passion of Christ really will need a sequel! Haha.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
