The Border Bowl Roster for the East Tennessee Team is below. The game will be January 17 at the University of the Cumberlands with a 1:00 kickoff. Last year's event was played in front of over 5,000 people. This year it is being sponsored by The National Guard, and should be even bigger. It should be a great game and give these seniors one more chance to play. East Tennesee won last year's game, and this one should be a great one as well. Check out www.ky-tn-borderbowl.com for more information on the game.

When did Rhea Co, Sweetwater, Hixson, and Boyd Buchanon get players into the B O R D E R BOWL? How did Powell, Campbell County and Rhea Co. get 3 players and everybody else got 2 players? Bet there coaches are coaches in the game.

As for Rhea

Because all 3 are some of the best players at their position in the state.

Kevin Revis UT commit

Josh Walker MTSU commit

Josh Davis is being recruited by several D-I school from all over the country. He is also the best punter in the state, and one of the top 5 punters in the nation according to max-preps.

Last time I checked this is a East Tennessee team, and Chattanooga is apart of East Tennessee. It good to see players from Chattanooga area represent, and last I heard none of Rhea's coaches were coaching on this team.

Well I didnt know it included ALL of EAST TENNESSEE. I only looked at the name BORDER BOWL.

Is there not some rule where you cant play in more than 1 all-starr game?

Hay, Indian and Rhea Co. (both of you smart @##'$), why was an East Tenn coach not selected as the head coach last year?

I'm not trying to be a smart @##. Sorry about that. As for the coach not being selected from East Tenn I can't answer that. There is a rule on all-star games. A player can play in 2 all star events in a school year.I pretty sure this means that both Revis and Walker will not be able to play in the Tennessee-Georgia all-star game in June due to that they will have played in the east vs. west and TN vs. Ky Border Bowl.

I'm kind of shocked that there is no Ooltewah players on the roster. I guess they are going to play in the Tennessee(Chattanooga Area)- North Georgia All-Star game.

Rhea, this was a great game last year. The Tennessee team threw the ball all over the field with the QB Mcmillan from Central and the Recs from Maryville(Shiver) and Halls(Dayton). They ran the ball well too with the Cobb from Fulton. It was an exciting game to watch. I expect more people this year because last year's game was so good. A lot of D2,D3, and NAIA will be there throughout the week to watch practice and see the game. Take a ride up I-75, and I don't think you will be disappointed.

Hey Olhickory,

Tried to access the website mentioned above and only got the Ky roster. For some reason the Tn roster wasn't listed.

I do know that Coleman 6'1", 215lb, from Anderson County was also invited to play in the Border Bowl.

    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
    • No sir. I watched it specifically and it was very dirty. He cleated the boy on purpose. Apparently, it’s an issue in football as well from what several schools have said. That said, looking forward to a good game 3. ER hit it well in game 2.
    • He is the transfer. 5star spoke on him in their new qb1 series. Didn’t list em as a transfer but I knew the name
    • Gunner Warren was the second starter, freshman. SP #1 arm impressed me last night.
