When will Tenn wrestling fans get the Bradley-Baylor dual match we deserve?

 

The wrestlers, the coaches and the refs put a lot into Tenn wrestling. So do the fans. We travel, spend, cheer, sit and talk and then we talk, sit, cheer, spend and travel. We deserve to see the best two programs in the state do battle.

 

Whatever grudges exist from the past should be buried.

 

Here are some options.

 

Option #1 - charity - Have the two schools pick one charity and give a portion of the proceeds to the charity. This event could clear $10,000 to $15,000 if held at a neutral site.

 

Option #2 - UTC wrestling - Schedule the match before a UTC home match with a top 10 team. If it was scheduled on an "off" weekend, you would get thousands of fans attending.

I understand Baylor is not the problem. That they would love to have the match. Bradley does not want to do it so you might want to change the title...."When will Bradley give us the match we deserve and agree to wrestle Baylor." Shame it isn't this year....both are loaded it seems.

What grudges are stopping these teams from having a match?

It would be a great charity event for the local childrens hospital. 5000 fans @ $7.50 each would be $37,500.00 less expenses contributed to a great charity.

I have heard and read also that Bradley does not want to wrestle Baylor. I will see if I can find out and maybe someone in the know will post it.

This argument comes up every year, and every year comes and goes without the match taking place. The fact of the matter is all of the fans would like to see it but they can't change the fact that they don't. The only people that can make the match happen are the coaches of the respected teams and therefore there is really no point in arguing about it. It will happen when both teams want it to happen

I agree! The issue of the two best teams in the state, Bradley and Baylor, not facing off in a dual arise each season. I'm not sure what reservations Bradley or Baylor may have about facing off. However, it's seems that either someone is either stubborn or someone is scared of the potential outcome! Keep in mind I'm not pointing fingers. It seems almost unforgiveable that the coaches on either side aren't able to set their differences aside for the benefit of the sport, the wrestlers and the fans.

Now that one would have to be at UTC to even get a chance to get in. I am like a couple of others on here though. I have read that Bradley is the problem and will not schedule Baylor. I wish someone on here in the know would shed more light on this...I will see if I can find out also.

Groundhog day has arrived once again. Everyone save your posts and just go back to last year, or the year before that, or the year before thad ad nauseum, or please copy threads from 2008, or 2007, or 2006. Same thing, same questions, same accusations same outcome, there will not be a match between these two. Sorry but thats the best answer you will get.
