Saturday night at CPA with Giles County down by 30 points. CPA drives the court , shoots and makes a three pointer with 2 seconds left. No effort at all to hold it and no pressure defense.

 

I guess Im old school, but to me unethical

Depends on the sportsmanship shown from the other team throughout the game IMO

Usually things like that have a habit of working themselves out. Looks to be the case after Marshall Co. put it to CPA.

Hopefully by a second stringer that wanted to get their name in the paper with that much of a lead?

I would guess a 14-15 year old that sits on bench most of the time. I say good for him.

 

If it was a starter that was still playing, then no should not have shot the ball.

I think CPA was nervous that the officals were going to screw up the timing and somehow they lose! Better safe than sorry....

If subs were in and they brought it up court and just threw one in, then there isn't much of a problem in my view. If you'll remember the end of the Marshall Co.-Giles Co. game, Marshall Co. had a sub dribbling the ball near mid-court then he shot one at the buzzer and it went in.

 

If they rushed it up court, then I could see some complaining.

I agree that it is unethical but I think that if it was a sub that doesnt get to play much or if the other team has shown poor sportsmanship.

If the opposing team, coaches, or fans have a history of jackassness, then I am all for it. If the opposing team or coach has a history of running up the score, then you better do it.

No harm no foul if the starters were out. The subs and JV need to work on stuff too. If it was that big of a deal, maybe Gile Co. should have defended it a little better. I have more of an issue if it's the starters.
