Ooltewah Owls vs Red Bank Lions

After the all day Saturday scrimmage a couple of weeks ago, the Owls finished 4-0 by a total score of 38 - 2. The owls as well as the other teams rotated through all of their pitchers. I would say from what I saw, Garret Baugh is not necessarily their best pitcher. But that was only one outing and I do not know the names of all their pitchers. There was a really good Sophomore pitcher according to the guy sitting next to me.

The new coach has really brought a lot to the table and these guys look totally different from last years group. Much more disciplined and more fire in their bellies.

PHILLIP DEPRIMO..LEFTY.,. REALLY SOUND BASEBALL PLAYER.GOOD KID.

first of all ooltewah has great pitches that work harder then anyone else in there district. i believe the rotation is garrett baugh, quade campbell, daniel sheets, and matt mikell. the first two are gonna blow red bank right of the water. red bank has no hitting as we can tell from losing to seq. county. and everyone is gonna jump on red banks pitching.

What about Jon Scoggins? Those 5 names right there make up a pretty good Rotation. All of them are capable of beating the best teams in the area. But, I would slow down a bit on saying that everyone is goin to jump on Red Bank"s pitching. Two guys at 90+ and a submarine thrower if a pretty good make up. But i will say, its nothing that the Owls can't handle.

  • 2 weeks later...

The Owls will make the trip over to Red Bank today has district play starts up. I believe Atkins is throwing for the Lions and Baugh for the Owls. tomorrow is a toss up, i believe Walden is still out with a cut on his hand, and The Owls have 5 guys who are capable. What is everyone's thoughts?

    • Best-of-three sectional series vs East Robertson at home starting Wednesday.  They put us out last year at this point.  Go Pirates!!
    • I don't believe they have anyone that is surbers caliber but a decent staff overall.
    • Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?
    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
