6.8 secs left to go....

 

LA on the line for one and one.....

 

LA up 46-44

 

Westview has made two mistakes here in the last 1 minute of the game....

 

1 the turnover on the inbounds and 2 why Sims was shooting out of the last time out with Swaim who had 21 points and Rechis on the court....

 

LA wins 48-44

 

Congrats to Livingston Acd.....

 

Congrats on a great season to the Lady Chargers....

 

 

A little closer game than I thought it would be. Seemed to be a huge differential in fouls - especially the first half.

 

Congrats to Westview for a great season. Nothing to be ashamed of for your young ladies.

 

Congrats to LA for the victory. You can be assured whoever you play tomorrow for the gold will be good.

If LA wins it all...they will have beaten the best to do it......Upperman, McMinn Co, Westview, and probably Gibson Co...I believe all where top 5 teams in AA this year!!!

One or two plays decided it.....I really do believe that if Westview gets it in late, the hold it for one....somebody would have made a shot to win it. Congrats to LA on making the play to win it....

 

That's sorta what Westview did wasn't it??...

 

Westview held the ball pretty much the last minute..Had the ball coming out of a time out after LA had made the steal to go up 2...Had it with about 16 seconds and had Sims shooting the ball with around 9 secs...Sims didn't score in the game.....

 

I think when Westview didn't take advantage of more of their opportunities when they had held LA scoreless from the time they hit back-to-back threes by Kilgore with just under two mins left in the third until Westview had gone up 39-38 with just under four mins left in the game was big...The Lady Chargers had several chances to put some room between them and LA....

 

Anyway the steal for a score for LA with about 40 secs left and all the Lady Charger missed free throws was what cost them the game....

that is what I meant....they got the steal off the in bounds......IF Westview gets it in...they run it down....SOMEBODY would have made it for the 3rd game in a row.....

 

the turnover/layup put them down 2 and thus couldn't shoot it at the buzzer...

LA punched their ticket to the championship game, their 9th in school history. Sophomore Sensation McKenzie Sells stepped up and stole the inbounds pass and put LA up 2 with 40 something seconds left. And after a Westview miss, she calmly walks up to the line and drains 2 of the biggest FT's of her career.

 

Westview held quarterfinal hero Alyssa Sells in check with 2 points today, but LA's Kilgore 16 pts. and Taylor 11 pts. stepped up and played great McKenzie finished with 13. Swain's 21 led Westview...with Rechis 12...Olds 9...and Nanny 2 the only players to score.

Westview's season ended 31 and 6. Great year good luck next year.

Well they were down two when Sarah Olds hit that three down in Memphis to beat Mitchell in the sub-state game....

 

And down two today they didn't hold it down to the buzzer, they took the shot probably too early with the wrong person shooting.....Unless it was a wide-open in-close shot...I couldn't tell where Sims was at on the court when she took the shot with about 9 secs left by the play-by-play

I think I have broke Purple and Gold Standard from using the biggest word in the dictionary....

 

 

IF

 

 

If the dog hadn't stopped to REST he might have caught the rabbit. I can say if we had done this and that when we were up earlier, Westview would have been out of it early in the second half.

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!

      I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
