they weren't dominating... Centennials midfield was lazy and were not passing the ball. Not to mention our coach hasn't been here. They had few shots on goal

The home team I heard from talking to a parent had 3 or 4 varsity not there or did not get there in till the 2 half & still dominated.

Tue 3/31 Beech at Ravenwood

Thu 4/2 Ravenwood at Page

Due to the strong weather expected tonight, the Ravenwood @ Page game has been moved up to 4:00. The JV game has been canceled and we will try our best to get in a full Varisty match before the perfect storm gets us!

3/31 Hixson 3 Sequatchie 1

4/2 Hixson Vs RedBank tonight at 7 (looks like thunderstorms though)

Curious, I've been noticing that Hixson is quietly having a good/great season. I was wondering what happened against Sweetwater. And who are some of the players on their team....I know there has to a Miller in there somewhere.

Hixson played very well against us and dominated us most of the time but i guess we were just lucky of there misses on goal...no offenses to anyone...

Maryville 1 South-Doyle 0

Not so great display for Maryville tonight. Shots, corners, and possession were heavily in favor of Maryville, but it was the same old story....we can't find the back of the net. Sick and tired of hitting the post and the ball being botched at the six. Also, playing on our small field again is hurting us because we actually have become used to playing at Maryville college. On the bright side, South Doyle really doesn't have that bad of a squad. They are young so they will lose to people who they shouldn't lose to like WB, but they showed a lot of fight. Look for them to be a tough squad...maybe they are just a year away. Overall, we were happy with the win. Good luck to both teams.

Maryville 1 South-Doyle 0

Definitely a surprising score. I'm not trying to take anything away from SD, but I figured Maryville would put more points on the board. How were the field conditions? Did that have any effect on the botched opportunities, Ned? I'm sure most teams can identify with your frustrations.

    • What has this guy done to you that is so bad? I have spoken to him at one of the games this past year and he was very nice. I am not sure on his ability to coach.
    • I didn't make it up, I was told that by another coach.   I was just passing along what I was told.  Keep your shirt on there tough guy.
    • I see them and Oakdale struggling quite a bit the next few years. I see OS to be the powerhouse of the area for awhile. It all depends on how much Coalfield can recruit.
    • How did the scrimmage with Central go?
    • I’ve said it all year coalfield isn’t the same team as the last couple years. They have 3 really good players and another pitcher that throws low to mid 80s. Other than that, everybody else is average at best. You could make the argument that their lineup was the worst out of the 4 teams in their region tournament. Oakdale is really hot right now and playing well. Greenback was the second best team there. Wartburg was hitting it well but limped into the tournament with their center fielder being hurt and their best pitcher not being able to go on the mound for them was killer.
