AHAH.....a troller. You can't possibly know too much about patriot/Imac football and not know about the infamous Jordan Greenway debacle

Nope, I did not know.

I played ball at Oneida, so I do know good football when I see it.

Greenway was a good player.

Where were you last October when the Knoxville news reported Greenways legal troubles???Starting basketball practice???

I was too busy crying over how bad the Jeff-Co season had gotten. We were bad.

Maybe this year we can keep our QB's healthy and out of troubles on and off the field.

See you folks Friday night some Rib Rock'in action.

My prediction is Jeff 28 Greeneville 24

Go Patriots!!!

ok you can talk about last year if you want to but if im not mistaken we finished in the top 4 in the state and you'll finished 3-7. check this out the 09 devils will win big on friday and it will be a long ride home for MORRISTOWN JUNIOR (jeff county)...

I do remember that wonderful ride home last year.

The tears of the Greenville fans paving the way as your team could not figure out how they caved to the pressure of having a BIG lead and blowing it. Can we say choke.

And yes, I was very proud to have watched Jeff-Co smack a top four finishing program on their home turf.

Nice field too. BTW

Jeff-Co’s record last year was not great, FOR SURE.

After losing McFall in Game 3, Jeff-Co was in DEEP trouble. As would most any school who lost their starting QB/Running Back to a season ending injury.

I will gladly credit McFall with the week 0 win last year. But its unfair to him to credit his injury with the lack of execution on the part of the rest of your team. And I don't think you should count the 54-0 beat-down you handed Cocke county....that was just classless.

Nahh i wouldnt call it classless. 14 of those points came from punt returns alone. so now its 40-0, two loooonggggg runs-one by the starting RB and the other by the 3rd string running back. I mean are you going to tell your second and third stringers that they can't play hard and get "real" game experience? Great strategy.

Great strategy... kinda like kicking a puppy. How about teaching discipline and good sportsmanship? I believe in developing talent same as the next granny but you also need to temper competitiveness with some sense of fairness and integrity. I read the prepxtra story about this game and actually laughed out loud.....http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2008/sep/2 ... t-perfect/

Almost perfect? Man nothing like destroying an inferior foe to make you look really good. At least you could be proud of beating Greeneville. What purpose did it serve to completey dismantle those kids like that. Thats some bad karma man...and with the luck JC had last year, they need all the good karma they can get. If what goes around, comes around, whipping up on the little guy may have been a mistake

So Gallatin beating whoever it was 91-0 a long time ago, catholic beating gibbs numerous times in the first round of the playoffs by huge margins the past 3 years, and Alcoa beating a team scoring 90 or so points are all classless victories? It gets to a point that you can't tell the kids to stop playing. It's like telling a hitter stepping up to the plate to try not to hit the ball too hard.

Yes....and I think the mercy rule was the best thing tssaa has ever done for the game. A coach has also got to teach discipline. I think you do a disservice to your team if you don't say "no its not ok to pound them into the ground just because you can". Sometimes teaching them when to hold back is just as important. And comparing football and baseball is strictly prohibited on Coacht

If this ever happens again with someone we will try and let the freshmen play. How about that?

If that does do it for you maybe some of the OLD players will get out there.

I must agree the mercy was one of the best things T$$AA did for HS Football.

I am not sure how you teach any more discipline by only running the ball and playing every player. If a team cannot stop your third/fourth string players from scoring while just running the ball up the middle, what do you do? You cannot tell the QB to take a knee 3 times then punt. I think that would be more disrespectful and callous to the other team.

I do not know.

Do you call time out and walk across the field and tell the other coach, I’m sending in the water-boy and playing only my freshmen? I don’t think so. You have to work the younger players in and run your base offense.

If they can’t stop that, well maybe they need to cap all teams to score only 45 pts and the 1st one there wins and game over at that point????

Personally I hate socialism and that would be a lot like socialism.
