Well as most of you know around the area Harriman won the district as alot of people expected them to do. But Rockwood proved that they're a good ball team when they come to play as they upset Grace in the district semis. I went down to watch the championship game at Harriman and Rockwood is really playing ball good at the right time but Harriman pulled it out I think the score was 6-1. But it tickles me that 2 Roane County teams are once again in the region, good luck to them tigers and devils!

 

Anybody know who Rockwood and Harriman play and the times for those games?

rockwood will play the District 4a champions.

Harriman will play the runner ups.

Coalfield is in the championship tomoro...they play the winner of Wartburg/Sunbright.

Major props to Coach Witter and the Tigers. a lot of people counted them out this year. but they adapted and overcame and are now a win away from being back in the substate. and we all know about region1 ball.. best of luck to the tigers..

Hmmm lets see. Last year, Harriman lucked into a win against a mediocre Hancock team, and the year before, they almost got slaughter ruled at Unaka. And that same year, Rockwood didn't even make it to the sectional round, soooo you might oughta rethink that statement...

rockwood has made it to state the past two years. harriman went last year. rockwood shut out the team they played in substate last year and run ruled the team in substate the year before. thats what im basing my statement on. but the past is done. good luck tigers.

Rockwood and Harriman's Baseball programs are highly respected in Region 1. However in 5 of the last 6 years a Region 2 team has been defeated in the substate by Unaka. Region 1 baseball may not be as good top to bottom as Region 2, but the top team is usually equal or better than Region 2's 1 or 2 seed. I would say before you go talking smack about other potential substate teams, you might want to consult Coach Adcox, or Coach Lane formerly of Rockwood, about the Trip to Carter Co. they will tell you that it is not a cake walk. Matter of fact CAK '03, Harriman'04, Harriman '05, Rockwood "06 and Harriman'07 have all fell in state tournament bids in Region 1. Now does this mean that it will happen this year NO, but don't disrespect region 1 because you think it is a chip shot win because it ISN"T. Good luck to all teams in the region 1 and 2, Make East Tennessee proud when you represent them in the state whoever they maybe.

Just alittle correction, but it was Rockwood '05, Harriman '06.... And in '03, even Region 1A runner-up Powell Valley gave Rockwood all the could handle, 4-2.

The trip to Unala has been brutal for Roane County teams in sectional play. No wins in baseball, basketball or softball. If you make the trip there you're probably gonna lose.

Wartburg Upset Harriman tonight 4-3

Coalfield beat Rockwood tonight 9-6 as many people expected.

Region Championship Wenseday, should be good game. Should also be 2 good sub-state games, i dont know much about Region 1a, but i kno that both Wartburg and Coalfield are 2 very tough teams to beat when they are on there game.
