I am a bit surprised that there are not very many posts after my final update... does everyone hate Farragut that much? Had Farragut lost this thread would be atleast 10 pages long with over rated posts...

That's because Farragut (and Bearden) use the youth sports programs to recruit from all over Knoxville, much the same as White Station in Memphis . . .

Nope good try though. Neither Farragut or Bearden recruits at all. Every player who plays for each team is zoned for that school and have been since before high school.

Yea its really amazing that all that talent just happens to live in the Farragut area.

But they don't recruit. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> The fact is nobody really cares or likes Farragut,

good year Mt. Juliet, its hard to win against a stacked deck. The sign has already been

hung out on the center field fence at admiral field.

personally I think if there is any recruiting at all. The winning does it. All it takes is winning games. Nothing illegal, just simply doing what Farragut does best. Win. If you win enough and get recognition people will come to you on their own. Farragut can't control that.

Oh they could "control that". LOSE SOME DARN GAMES !! LOL, Congratulation to the Admirals on another great season.

And all of that talent from the old Knoxville Stars just happened to land at South Doyle & graduate 2 years ago? What was that 6 or 7 kids @ SD that were drafted or went D1 in baseball? Nice try but when you have open zoned schools and kids are allowed to attend any school of their choice you open yourself up to people pointing fingers. IMO, magnet schools and open zoned schools should be playing in D2 with the schools that offer financial aid.

It was a good game. I'm not a close fan of either school, but a big fan of tennessee hs athletics. Mt, Juliet, you stood toe to toe with a great team. It doesnt really matter how they got that good, you were on the field and had a chance to beat them. Wins brings talent. Talent brings in more talent. There are years when some teams get really loaded. Thats the way it goes.

Congrats Farragut.

    • Sorry Barn. I wasn’t specific enough. It seems I’m always protecting the principal at 825. My interactions with her have been extremely positive, but very limited. With all the other stories being told, I’m confident there are other sides I am not aware of. Regardless, there are lots of decent people earning good checks up there. Maybe too good, which explains why no one is willing to speak up. My beef is with the poor communication among the athletic programs and with the administration. Seven years ago the poor communication led to my son missing graduation due to a sporting event that was planned months before. I chalked it up to the system being totally shocked that the baseball team made it out of their district, and our then AD was a football coach. Maybe they were surprised and did not plan appropriately. That was more palatable than they just didn’t give a crap. Déjà vu, seven years later, same thing. Different administration, but same result.  Maybe in seven more years, it will actually be “about the kids”. They should do better.
    • That's a fair line. But if it's not over, that's a big problem.
    • RR, you think that changes this year, or at least improves? I know they had a couple of talented young receivers last year that made some plays later in the year. Defensive back was a struggle against any team that was above average at throwing the ball.
    • You would think they got a bunch of interest
    • You would think with football just three months away more would be talking. There's only so much a person can say about someone allowing the field to get painted without asking their boss who would have said ((((((((  ALE NO ))))))))) or all the other BULLS#!T they've done as they lead Maryville High into the new age of WOKE in a conversative town. I'm ready for some football news without hearing something coming out of 825 that Power Munger has done to cap off the week.
