Amy is a former Miss basketball from LA. A ten year assistant under Bill Worrell and three year head Coach.

Anyone have a guess about a High School coach moving up?

There are plenty good ones around.

Could the last name on the door of the new head coach still be Brown?[/size]

Just a little to late to hire the person that could turn Tech around in the shortest amount of time. That being Kellie Jolly Harper. NCState's pay scale may be more than Tech wants to pay?

Jim Brown is someone who could prepare the team to win. He is just a solid fundamentalist type coach. The question is, can he recruit? Can he keep the local talent home? If so, he could be who Tech needs. Matt Insell, also comes to mind. A proven recruiter and someone who has an in with local talent and can go out of state recruiting when needed. Who ever the hire is, that coach needs to mix and mingle with the local high school coaches and plug up the talent drain from the area.

Kellie Jean signed a 5 yr contract worth almost $300,000 per year. Kellie Jean can win a NC at NC State. However, she is following Coach Kay Yow, who died following a long battle with cancer. Coach Yow and most of NC State wanted Coach Glance to take over. Lee Fowler stepped out and hired Kellie Jean. I hope she does well at NC State.

Good luck to Tech on their hire.

Allison Clark, top assistant at Middle Tennessee ?

She is a Tech grad, and former player.

Would Matt Insell come back and coach under his father at MT ? Last time he was hired the B.O.R. would not let him coach under his father. But THEC will let Kiffin's dad coach under him at UT ?

Allison Clark is the front-runner from what I hear. Not ruling anyone out though.

Nearly everyone in the state of Tennesse has at one time or another accused Jim Brown of recruiting. Same can be said of the Insells.

UTMartin picked up the most recent HS successful coach in Kevin Mac.

Jim brown and Kevin Mac have been friends for years, know the same people, and have semilar coaching methods.

They both have been involved in AAU/Exposure summer bball. They both know where the TN tallent is. They would both be competing for the same kids.

There are lots of TTU alumni coaching at: Lawrenceburg,Columbia,Cookeville,Sequatchee,Cannon Co. and other places.

Lamar Rogers, Clark Range and Jim Brown Jackson Co. are also TTU alumni. Both have had teams ranked in USA Today top 25 at one time or another.
