ATTENTION ALL COACH T WRESTLERS WRITERS AND READERS!!

I AM A WRESTLER FROM MIDDLE TENNESSEE AND I AM VERY GOOD AND COMPETITIVE. I LOVE WRESTLING INDESCRIBABLY AND ALSO HAVE OTHER WRESTLING TEAM MATES THAT FEEL THE SAME WAY... BUT I AM HAVING A HUGE ISSUE TO DEAL WITH. I GOT FIFTH PLACE IN STATE LAST YEAR AND I WANT TO WIN IT ALL THIS YEAR NO MATTER WHAT BUT THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT I HAVE NO TYPE OF GOOD COACHING AT ALL!!! THE COACH THAT I HAVE IS NEW AND HAS NEVER EVER COACHED A DAY OF WRESTLING IN HIS LIFE!!!!

IM FROM A METRO SCHOOL FULL OF MOSTLY AFRICAN AMERICANS WITH ALOT OF TALENT BUT HARDLY ANY KNOWLEDGE OF WRESTLING WHATSOEVER. AND I HAVE MOSTLY CONDITIONING AND STRENGTH ON MY SIDE FOR RIGHT NOW UNLESS I CAN HAVE A COACH/MENTOR TO SHOW ME THE PATH TO A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!! AND NOT ONLY IS IT ME THAT IS TANGLED IN THIS PROBLEM BUT SO ARE OTHER VERY GOOD WRESTLERS. AND I HAVE BEEN INFORMED BY MANY OTHER COACHES/MENTORS TO JUST TRANSFER TO ANOTHER SCHOOL. BUT UNFORTUNATELY THATS NOT POSSIBLE WITH ME BECAUSE MY PARENTS ARENT THAT BIG WITH MY SPORT AND ARE NOT ALLOWING ME TO SWITCH SCHOOLS LIKE I WANT TO.

 

SO WITH ALL THAT SAID... WHAT CAN I DO??

I KNOW I CAN WORK HARDER TO WIN AND BE ABLE TO SAY I DID EVERYTHING ON MY OWN BUT I NEED ALL THE SUPPORT I CAN GET. I HAVE GOOD PARTNERS AND PRACTICE FACILITIES. BUT WHAT ELSE CAN I DO TO MAKE SURE I CAN WIN AND GUARANTEE A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP THIS YEAR!!?? I CAN DO WHATEVER IS POSSIBLE EXCEPT CHANGING SCHOOLS.

 

CAN ANYONE HELP ME OUT HERE PLEASE??

There is no way to guarantee a title. You have worked hard this summer, so have alot of other

wrestlers who have the same dream. My suggestion is to make the best of it. If you can not transfer,

you must change your way of thinking and become more positive. What you say is very powerful! If you say that you can't win with the current coach -- (guess what)? You won't!

 

Write down your goals. Make a short term and long term list. Be positive and make it happen.

As luck would have it, a room at my house is opening up on Aug 14th. You say that changing schools is not an option due to your parents not being into the sport, I say get rid of your parents for the winter and come join EFT.....

 

Good luck in your journey, and keep in mind that there are many men that love this sport and would be happy to help you reach your goal.

If you have a mode of transportation, I would call over at Father Ryan and ask to talk with the head coach Patrick Simpson and ask him for permission to come in and practice with the REAL IRISH (sorry Bearcat just had to but seriously it is nice to see you back on here posting). The worst thing he can do is say no, but knowing him, he probably will be more than glad to let you practice at Ryan.

I got an open bed on the southeast side of town. I need another to take down the evil Williamson Co. monster we will be facing this year. LOL! For real tho. Hard work, and having McGavock down the street may help. I am sure Coach Coffee would not have a problem with you guys coming over. Otherwise, a 20 minute drive to the county border might help.

I have never heard of Coach Pat Simpson telling a kid they were not welcome in his practice room. I was told that Hume Fogg, MLK, Peal Cohn and other metro schools all have an open invitation to workout with Father Ryan whenever they wish.

I would like to thank everybodys help and support!!

it seems to me that my best option is; if we dont get a good coach soon, is to be able to practice with any school available every other week. i know that would do a great help. but before then i can just take it step by step and assure you that you will see me do damage at the super 32 tournament this year!!

      Gravedigger gotta finish filling the hole before hitting 40 East. May need a new Yellow Shirt play signaler on the Stones. And apparently a new strength coach now. Cicadas must've got shaken out of the bushes in Donelson. Hopefully the mower man sticks around to keep DG field looking pristine. Maybe new OC can call in a favor to his PGA friends that knows a thing or two about being green during the season. The heat is on soon. Bring in the 2 way freak Iceman and cool things off. He knows a thing or 2 about wildcats. Gotta take our talents South soon for Nationals. Don't step on my blue suede shoes.
