Seq is going to have a rough year. Although i see MC finishing 6-4 going to the playoffs. They we will lose the last two games of they year against Alcoa and Sequatchie Co. Best of luck to both teams.

Not so sure the Chargers will lose to Sequatchie Co. I think the Chargers are improving each week, but I don't expect them to beat Alcoa. Reagrdless, I'd take a 6-4 or 7-3 record this year with their schedule, over a 9-1 or 10-0 record with the schedule they had the last couple of years. I think It will pay off come playoff time.

Hey Folks, This is going to be another battle for the Chiefs trying to invade Big Blue Country and leave with a win. The Chiefs coming in looking for their first win of the season, the Chargers living well with a top ten ranking...hmmmm.....no brainer......Chiefs in a close one, 20 - 19.

GO CHIEFS!!!

(Please no remarks about me name, lol)

Your name suits you well. since when have the CHEFS invaded big blue country and won anything?????

Maybe cattle judging???? No. the big blue would win that 2.

Couldn't agree more Buc. 7-3 team with a real schedule to me is far better than 9-1 with cupcakes. Adversity makes ones will grow stronger or fall apart. I think we have responded well after the smacking Polk laid on us. A battle tested team with a few losses is a better team than an unproven 9-1 team. Go Blue!!!

In reality, the buttwhipping laid on the Chargers by Polk was a blessing in disguise. I think it awakened the players, and got them to finally buy into this new coaching staff. Central certainly has one of the state's toughest schedules, and they will be (as you say) "battle-tested" when playoff time rolls around.

well, i was wrong.

thought central would come out and play well and beat seq into the ground. looked like the chargers thought the same thing and believed they could just show up and win.

why does central always struggle against seq?

came out flat. too many fumbles. bad snaps. no excuse.

they can beat sweetwater playing like that, but not anyone else left on the schedule!!!!

If that game is played on thursday I will try and make it I would love to see central take the win the polk take the win on friday. Polk and Central have to prove to everyone that this part of TN can play with the best of them. Good luck to the Chargers once again on the rest of the season.

OK. I'm a Central fan but the Central team that played Friday has got a lot to do to get ready to just stay in the game with Alcoa. I want to see it happen but it ain't. I believe they should be able to handle a Sweetwater team that is way down. The rest of the games are toss ups. Not sure who we might get in the first round of the playoffs, if we make it. Sorry, but I was really disappointed with the SQHS game and I am a realistic fan. :D

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
