bbsfan
Chattanooga Cannon: Good analysis of yesterday's Page/Greenville game. SoccerSwami: GK inexperience is not an issue for Page. The GK in yesterday's game is an experienced travel player, and Page's center defender is one of TN ODP 94 keepers, she plays GK for a club team that won state the past 2 years. coachof3
Notre Dame has at least 8 ten goal victories in the last 5 years. Is that a pattern?

Usually this doesn't happen until Friday....and the dog and I are usually involved. Nice to have other kids on the block play....
h2odog
Woof, Woof...... The Girls are getting all wadded up. Season must almost be over. Where's Barb been hiding, (Greeneville). She has more posts than G.BigG....

luvallsportz
What would you do under those circumstances? This years Cumberland Gap game is similar as they are a new program. Look at the scores of other teams who played Cumberland Gap. There are many teams out there playing in similar situations. Page and Greeneville both are playing in conferences with markedly weaker teams that they must play. Look at Greeneville's non-conference schedule though and you can see Eiskamp trys to make up for it by playing the best whenever he can. I cant believe this whole rationalization.....putting in jv or freshman isn't the answer....there are a couple of teams in west tn that their freshman teams are better than their JV and would give their varsity a run.... The answer is in the heart of the coaches and their leadership....22-0 is like beating someone in basketball 100 to 2....scores like that get you on the news as unsportsmanlike... try things like you can only score off a header, no shots from inside the box, use left foot only (assuming right footed player)....we had some local AAA playoff games where the the coach quickly dropped down to 11 vs 8.... you can defend coach all you want but those scores are a sign of immaturity as far as I'm concerned.....lastly, saying other teams beat these teams bad also....no excuse what other teams are doing.......be an adult....be a leader....set the standard...... Coniglio
Getting beaten 11 v 8 is probably more humiliating than getting scored on every 5 minutes. Not touching the ball throughout the game is more humiliating than getting scored on every 5 minutes. The better team needs to put in the worst string they have, and let them get experience, even if they are superior to the best players of the other team, it is still game experience. The lesser team needs to continue to fight, THAT is the only way they can get better out of the situation and hope to not put themselves in that circumstance again. soccermom127
There are lots of ways to gradually make it to where the teams would be playing 8 v 11 without advertising it to the other team. You take out 2 and only put in 1....the players on the field do not typically notice the changes initially. Typically it is good to let the linesman know what it going on. Contrary to what you said....this does allow the other team to start having a more competitive game and it also allows the more skilled team to be more challenged. My opinion is that this is less demoralizing. Of course, everyone has a different opinion on how best to handle and nothing is necessarily perfect in a situation such as this....except to minimize the number of games that are played against much weaker competition.
