"Brentwood Academy is a co-educational, independent, college preparatory school dedicated to nurturing and challenging the whole person - body, mind, and spirit - to the glory of God" - BA's mission statement

"Vivat Veritas" Let truth prevail - BA's motto

Brentwood Academy's vision (according to their handbook):

" - teachers who seek to serve

- teaching students to serve

-Stepping down to lead

-Leadership which inspires and empowers faculty and students to carry out our mission

- Students seeking their God-given talents

- Teachers who excite and challenge students to think

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen. 2 Peter 3:18"

Yeah, I bet all BA students and teachers go by that every day. Kind of like how everyone at Ensworth is constantly searching for truth.

True, it's aspirational in nature, as are most mission statements but you might be surprised. Come for a visit sometime.

Some people, like me, do not want to have learn in a Christian environment. Im not going to quote all of Ensworth's statements but it in non-affiliated. I'm not saying it is a bad environment, it is just that many people don't want the religious aspect.

I think most people understand what you are saying, and you are right. The point of independent school education is that every school is different. We certainly need to respect and celebrate what each school has to offer.
