Arlington Vs. Millington

Topic definitely strayed to the BHS vs CHS but that is ok. It is raining like crazy today, another long continuous rain. These fields are already saturated and News channel 3 was calling for rain to come back Friday. Millington field took a good beating friday night and even though it is in decent shape you can expect a slop fest over there friday night. Traction will tough, stoping and starting will be near impossible. The only hope not to have a mud bowl will be if the rain stops today and does not return the rest of the week.

Who has the edge in the probable "Mud Bowl"?????

This one is tough to call. Arlington can hurt you in so many ways, but Millington has a strong D. Millington can lull you to sleep with their offense and all it takes in one play, but Arlington also has a strong D, stronger than they get credit for. I think this comes down to who can limit the big play.

Straying a bit...Going out on a limb and giving the win to Bartlett. Think that C'mont makes too many mistakes...If they get by here though, look for a short playoff stint...No way a team that makes as many errors as the Chiefs gets very far!

This comes from the same person who said Millington's "region dominance continues" in predicting the Millington/Craigmont game. I also recall asking you what game you were referring to when you talked about our "zillion" mistakes in the Arlington/Craigmont game topic and never got a response. Yeah, mistakes are made on the football field but name me a team that plays mistake free football. These are high school kids after all and they will make mistakes from time to time. All that being said, I would really appreciate it if people would refrain from trashing other teams on here instead of just saying something like "well this team does this well and that team does that well." Is it possible to do that???

Missed the boat on the Craigmont game..not by much though...Remember I said it would be very close and you can't get much closer than it was. Understand, not trashing or downing C'mont. Just know that they have some problem areas that will bite you in the butt if you're not lucky. (ex. long snapper needs work..bounced 3 on the ground against Arlington..you have a solid punter and pretty good placekicker..however, this is to no avail if snaps are poor..multiple penalties. encroachment, false starts, not getting 11 on the field in punting situations, kickoff return, punt return, and illegal substitution are things that you can't have against good teams and expect to be successful. I certainly hope that ya'll can put things together and have a solid playoff run. You have some fine athletes..just don't beat yourselves.

I haven't seen an illegal substitution or an illegal participation called yet this season.

Alright,..... most regular season full practices are over. Nothin left now but the game. Who has the advantage friday night with the rain forecast??? You would think it would be the Trojans run oriented offense....shouldnt it be? Arlington is going to pass the ball wet or dry, thats what they do. Will that give the Trojans defense the edge and can Millington capatalize with their run game???? Does Hawkins have the offense clicking on all cylinders week 10 of the season?

If it's pouring during the game, Millington probably has the advantage. If the rain stops and the field is just a mess, I'd say Arlington's receivers would have the advantage over Millington's defensive backs because they know where they are going and the defensive backs have to try to keep up. You just really, really hope that the weather doesn't drastically affect the outcome of this game.

Based on all weather reports i have watched , the weather will unfortunately have a "drastic effect" on every high school game in the area. Probably a little less efffect on the turf fields for those teams fortunate enough to have one to play on. It is what it is both teams have to deal with. These conditions will reveal other characteristics of good football teams even though the football being played might be very ugly.

Im going to go out on a limb and say the weather will not affect the outcome of the game. Looking back, how many Friday Nights this year have been dry? Not many! Arlington has played in wet conditions and I am almost positive they got some work in on tuesday outside in the rain. The Arlington coaches will have these young men prepared and ready for whatever weather is ahead!

No disrespect to the Millington people at all! They have a great ball team and I know Coach Hawkins will have them ready to try and make a statement in Week 10! I hate predictions and will probably fall on my face with this one BUT........ I SAY ARLINGTON 35-10......

    • When she starts farting around with the football team the powers in Maryville will run her out of town on a rail and everyone connected with letting her in the door. You saw what happened when Alcoa's radio announcer thought he was coming to Maryville, the people rose up and stopped it.
    • 20 but had 5-6 not dressed every game. It went down towards the end due to injuries and obviously only 15 got to dress for the state tournament. Then, they only lost 2 from this year and gain 8 from the middle school for next year
    • As somebody mentioned before, this is going to result in a massive lawsuit, can you imagine professional "educators" actually having the conversation about getting "the bad kids" out of the high school?  And the head coach asking directly to change grades, gets turned down, comes back again and gets it approved?  This is unbelievable.  In addition to the lawsuit, the state Department of Education is going to come down extremely hard on this.  WYSH is on the war path.  There could be dozens more lose their jobs by the time this is over.  And yeah the real shame is the kids being affected that literally had nothing to do with this and actually worked hard to earn their grades.
    • I've heard Powell from someone who talked to him. I saw the kid two days ago and I should of pulled over and talked with him and wished him well where ever he goes. It will be a ale of a loss for us because I don't believe we have anyone in the stable good as him from what I seen in the spring.
    • I would have to think that the firing of the 2 teachers is just the beginning of future moves.  If not, it is woefully short.  If the AC school board thinks that the damage is just limited to Clinton, they are sadly mistaken.  Any outsider would view the whole school system as suspect, and rightly so.
