I have been hesitant to put this out here out of respect for those involved, but I feel I need to do it.

 

Volunteer has a football player that I will not name out of respect for how the family may feel, that is very , very ill right now and in need of everyone's prayers. I will not go into the nature of the illness since I do not know all the details but please just remember this young man as you pray for his health. The Lord knows who he is and what his needs are. Thank You.

I allways hate to hear of any young person with health problems.My heart goes out to that player and his family.When you get to the bottom line,this is just a game and there are a lot of things more important than the friday night lights.

The fine young men that play the Friday night games deliver much enjoyment to us all that love the game. I give them my support on and off the field, so please know that I'm praying for this young man. Thank you Boonie.

You learn something new every now and then.This playoff syetem from what I'm hearing factors in the computer guys power ratings.Meaning,we can't just go out and squeak by Volunteer friday night.If this is the case,I really don't like it for highschool football.There are times,when sportsmanship should factor in.Farragut could have tried to score at the end on us,or last year when we could have punched a last minute score on Elizabethton.Why have the "Mercy"rule if your going to take that into your thinking ? That's a rule I don't like as well.It could have come into effect in our games with South and TH.A play here and there and both those games could have been very interesting at the end.I say let the coaches and their teams work those things out for every game.I doubt this will keep coach from playing most,if not all the seniors friday night.Let's take care of business and Roll Tribe !!

Just wanted to step over here for a moment and say a thanks to the DB posters who have pledged allegience to the Rebels for this weeks game and beyond. It was noticed and appreciated. Thank you.

Sleep tight and don't fret over the play-off format Batman. Margin of victory does not factor into the seedings. Victories and defeats with many categories weighting classifications of the teams on your schedule and teams on their schedules factor in,but scores do not. You are correct though that Earl Nall uses them in his power rankings. Go to the TSSAA website and research determining playoff teams to read all about it. There is a flow chart to use to determine the 4 quadrants for each classification. The interesting chart is the one that ranks all teams in respect to wild card status.

 

Good luck to the Tribe in the play offs . It is a brand new season and the one that really counts. Anything is possible when everyone pulls together.

all of NET needs to pull together, hoep SOuth and Tenn H. have a great game , but i have to pull for South. i think they both will meet in the playoffs and the winner goes on to win the state. I hope D.B. does well in the playoffs and all the other NET teams.

Very quiet thread as I thought it would be.They have thoughts of sneaking up on us.How does a lose to Volunteer sound to any other Tribe fan .. Well,I hope it sounds that way to our players too.Roll Tribe !!

Don't see that happening, but then you never know with the way we've been up and down this year. I have noticed that our taking care of the football and penalties committed have been very much improved in recent games, we may very well beginning to come together as a team. I'd say that's bad news for our adversaries in the up coming playoffs! In the last 3 - 4 years it seemed as if we had peaked about mid-season and coasted into the playoffs, might be different this year! You're correct on not much comment being made on this thread, we need a VolCap1 or a VBTmom type to add a little spice on this thread! ROLL TRIBE!
