if this is correct why would heritage play mt pleasant at mt plesant heritage has a better record?

Heritage is a wild card. Mt. Pleasant is an automatic qualifier.

From the TSSAA website:

Once the 24 teams have been selected in the Class 1A and 2A playoffs, the teams will be geographically grouped into four six-team quadrants. The teams within each quadrant are placed in the bracket so that teams from the same district will not play each other in the first round. The only exception would be when 5 or more teams from the same district qualify for the play-offs and all 5 teams are in the same geographic quadrant. After teams from the same district have been separated, placements are then arranged with priorities given to automatic qualifiers. Teams finishing 1st in their district will receive highest priority. Teams finishing 2nd in their district will receive second priority. Teams not finishing 1st or 2nd in their district but finishing in the top half of their subdivision will be given third priority, followed by wild card qualifiers.

Thunder,

If the TSSAA is supposed to group the quads geographically then your quads make no sense to me. Trousdale and Friendship are nowhere near Chattanooga or the Sequatchie Valley...it is a 2.5 hour trip. I thought the purpose of having "geographical" quads was to cut down on travel time. Further, both of them are North while the rest of the quad you posted is South.

If it is going to be consistent (which I think is the goal, but rarely the case) the TSSAA would need to put TC and FCS in the Northwest quad.

I just took Quad 1 is districts 1-4, Quad 2 is districts 5-8, Quad 3 is 9-12, and Quad 4 is 13-16. We will find out in a few hours.

ok this is gonna look complicated but i was thinking like the TSSAA here, and trying to keep everything as CLOSE to geographically fair as possible the format is class, finish-district/region name dist record overall[region]

East

**2A 1-2a Hampton 3-0 9-1[5-0] v-

*2A 2-2a Unaka(Elizabethton) 2-1 5-5[4-1] v *2A wc-4a Rockwood 0-1 8-2[3-2]

**2A 1-4a Oneida 3-0 8-2[6-0] v-

*2A 2-4a Oliver Springs 2-1 8-2[5-1] v *2A wc-4r Watertown 1-2 7-3[4-2]

Mid-State

**2A 1-2a Signal Mountain 1-1 9-1[3-1] v-

*2A 1-5a Tellico Plains 1-0 7-3[3-2] v *2A 2-5a Silverdale(Chattanooga) 1-1 5-5[2-1]

**2A 1-4r Trousdale County(Hartsville) 3-0 9-1[8-0] v-

*2A 1-5a Boyd Buchanan(Chattanooga) 2-0 8-1[3-0] v *2A 2-4r Friendship Christian(Lebanon) 2-1 9-1[5-1]

Mid-West

*2A 1-9a Cascade(Wartrace) 2-0 7-3[6-0] v-

*2A 1-10a East Robertson(Cross Plains) 2-0 8-2[5-1] v *2A wc-10a White House Heritage(White House) 1-1 7-3[4-2]

**2A 1-13a McKenzie 1-0 9-1[5-0] v-

*2A 1-6r Mt. Pleasant 2-0 5-5[4-3] v *2A 2-9a Forrest(Chapel Hill) 1-1 9-1[5-1]

West

**2A 1-15a Adamsville 4-0 9-1[4-0] v-

*2A 1-16a Douglass(Memphis) 1-0 4-6[2-0] v-

*2A 2-16a Westwood(Memphis) 0-1 3-7[1-1] v *2A wc-13a Dresden 0-1 6-4[3-2]

after i did a LOT of math and took a lot of things into consideration the 4 WCs were Dresden, WHH, Watertown & Rockwood leaving of the 0.500+ teams only Marion County as the outside looking in, now as to WHY Watertown travels to OZ, last i checked you CANNOT play a team from you Region/District first round and the ONLY other way to do that concoction was as follows:

East

**2A 1-2a Hampton 3-0 9-1[5-0] v-

*2A 2-2a Unaka(Elizabethton) 2-1 5-5[4-1] v *2A wc-4a Rockwood 0-1 8-2[3-2]

**2A 1-4a Oneida 3-0 8-2[6-0] v-

*2A 2-4a Oliver Springs 2-1 8-2[5-1] v *2A 1-5a Tellico Plains 1-0 7-3[3-2]

Mid-State

*2A 1-5a Boyd Buchanan(Chattanooga) 2-0 8-1[3-0]

**2A 1-2a Signal Mountain 1-1 9-1[3-1] v-*2A 2-5a Silverdale(Chattanooga) 1-1 5-5[2-1]

**2A 1-4r Trousdale County(Hartsville) 3-0 9-1[8-0] v-

v *2A 2-4r Friendship Christian(Lebanon) 2-1 9-1[5-1] v *2A wc-4r Watertown 1-2 7-3[4-2]

now it all looks odd but i'm thinking like the TSSAA right here... so take the way i did this with a grain of salt, you think this is screwed up... look at 1A... it's WORSE than the way i did this... and probably will be worse in a few hrs...

It ought to be as easy as this:

Q1

Hampton

Onieda

Oliver Springs

RockWood

Unaka

Tellico

Q2

Boyd

Cascade

Signal Mtn

Forrest

Silverdale

Marion Co

Q3

TC

FCS

ERobertson

Mt Pleasant

WHH

Watertown

Q4

McKenzie

Adamsville

Douglass

Riverside

Westwood

Humboldt

May not be in that particular order as far as seeds but the teams should be in geographical Q's

    • Gleason all over west Carroll in scrimmage. Gleason is big and fast
    • Defending 2A state Champs Westview Lady Chargers are pretty tough. They lost a bunch of production off last year's squad but returned some talent as well. They still McCall Simms, a Tennesseee Lady Vol softball commit as well as solid talent around the diamond. I dont think they are as good as last season but they will definitely be a tough out. Huntingdon Lady Mustangs seem to be pretty stout as well. Don't know much about Riverside other than Westview defeated them earlier in regions. West Tennessee softball is pretty solid all around id say.
    • Eagleville couldn’t catch up to Jones, he did have his location issues but in that game Eagleville popped up everything and the one hit they did have could have been ruled an error. Jeffcoat was a lot sharper in the beginning of the season last year than the end. ER ran out of pitching and still was in striking distance but none the less the better team one. Last seasons tournament was A LOT more balanced and talented. South Pitts starter is a Lefty who was low 80’s but couldn’t maintain his velo throughout the  outing, their #2 was more impressive last year, we knocked him around this year and his mph was down some. Their #3 isn’t bad neither, throws a lot of strikes and sits high 70’s.
    • He actually had a really solid spring.  I could see him getting some backup snaps on offense and be a regular on special teams.  Really athletic kid who can run.
