Congratulations DeKalb. Didn't make the long trip with muzzleloader in the morning. Looking forward to hearing about the game from knowledgeable fans that were there, not some of the mess that was being posted on here before the game.

What a game. Many big plays. Score back and forth throughout the game.

1st Qtr. DeKalb 7 - Greenbrier 0

Halftime DeKalb 14 - Greenbrier 14

3rd Qtr. DeKalb 27 - Greenbrier 28

Final DeKalb 41 - Greenbrier 35

1st Qtr. DeKalb has ball 4th and 2 on Greenbrier 32 yard line. They fake the fullback dive and throw a 32 yard pass to Sonni Young in the end zone for TD. Very Gutsy Call :o

2nd Qtr. DeKalb scores on Poteete 46 yard run. Score tied at halftime 14 -14

3rd Qtr. DeKalb completes a 60+ yard pass but receiver fumbles on the 5 yard line as he is trying to fight for the end zone. DeKalb believes to have missed a great opportunity to score but Greenbrier fumbles on their second play from scrimmage and gives DeKalb the ball right back on the 5 yard line. DC scores a TD.

4th Qtr. Score going into 4th quarter was DC 27 - Greenbrier 28. Greenbrier scores on 50+ yard TD run. Takes lead at 35-27. DC next possession scores on a 77 yard pass play. 2 pt conversion no good. Score Greenbrier 35 - DeKalb 33.

Greenbrier takes ball and continues to run the ball for 4-5 yard gains down the field while taking time off the clock. With 3 minutes left in game Greenbrier has ball around mid-field and fumbles. DC recovers. DC moves the ball and with less than 2 minutes DC has ball 2nd and 24 on the Greenbrier 34, scores on Poteete to Edwards pass for TD. 2pt conversion good. DC leads 41 - 35.

Greenbrier receives kickoff with 1:13 left on the clock. Greenbrier moves the ball all the way down to the DC 15 with 24 seconds lefts in the game. Greenbrier throws a pass that is intercepted by DC player Abram Edwards to secure the win.

No offense, but I was surprised that the Tigers weren't more physical than they were last night. Passing is obviously DC's saving grace, and it's obvious by the number of WR's. Maplewood is a new monster with speed, and better pass protection than Greenbrier so if had to guess I'd think the score against them will by much like the WH-WC game, with Maplewood moving on to Round 3.

    • Honestly the A.D. may be powerless at Maryville to some degree versus other schools. I know he has his hands full with GoFan and all the stupid surprises just from the emails he sends out during the season.
    • Harriman was better than what I anticipated. They had good skill guys and a QB that’s gonna make a lot of teams look silly. They had some silly pre snap penalties but it’s just spring and I guess that’s expected.    Oneida looks the part. They are big upfront and got a stable of backs that’s gonna carry them this year. They have a few playmakers at receiver also. They have a new receiver that has only played basketball till this year and he is very athletic. The question is can we find a QB to consistently get them the ball. They played 2-3 kids there and none looked great but they didn’t look awful either. The  defense is gonna be tough again but it’s very early and a lot can change between now and the fall.     It was good just to get out and watch some ball. I don’t know if Oneida has the team to win the region this year but just what I saw tonight I think they may be in the conversation come November.
