Tell us about your team. I hear on offense you run some wing t and out of the spread some. Lots of QB keepers with your fine QB (6-2 208?). Is that pretty accurate? How does your run / pass ratio work out. What type of defense do you run?

I'll go ahead and throw out a little similar info on the Warriors. Offense is 99.9% out of shotgun. We run 3, 4, and and a little 5 receivers. No tight end, 5 linemen. Our center #67 (jr.) is the only player that starts both ways. He has matched up with some very highly regarded linemen and done extremely well. Our run / pass ratio would be roughly 70% pass to 30% run, although during the bulk of the game it has been even heavier pass. We have tended to run more in the second half I would say when we generally have had a lead. QB (#2, 6-2 190 I would guess) is primarily a passer, but is very fast when he takes off. RB (#8) is smallish (5-11 160 approx) but strong for his size. Hits the hole hard and very quickly, runs north south. Our deepest position and arguably our best is receiver. We lost 1 earlier in the year but he is back and looks great. In the meantime, we have developed one freshman into an outstanding receiver too. All 4 receivers (15, 21, 27,16) on the field are way above average in catching the ball and YAC. #15 is not big, but is a burner and has great hands.

On defense, the DL has been outstanding, and the LB corp is I believe the best overall we've had in the last several years. No current big time prospects like Bennet a couple of years ago, but overall outstanding. We run a 4-4 cover 3, (3 DB's). On defense, you might look for #23 who plays corner. He also returns punts, returns kicks, handles punting duties, and has played a little RB. He is a tremendous athlete and is a burner as well. (Won the KIL jamboree sprint last year in a close race with the AE back.)

GREAT job out there tonight #67....You make me proud!

We got home at 12:20. I got in the hot tub to relax my shoulder. Man what a game. I'm so proud of the McMinn Central players. They had it won until the last 5 minutes of the game. I believe CAK got a little surprised. I'm so sorry you couldn't hold on. But I'm honored to have sat and watched 11 football games this year.

To our son, Jamin. I loved those punts. 50, 60, and I believe one was really close to 80. They were high, long, and pretty. Your Dad and I are so proud and honored. We just have only one regret....that you had played sooner. I cried all the way to my car. I just watched our son kick his last HS football. I'm crying sitting here typing. So let's go on. You guys on this thread will be saying. "Get that woman off here." hahaha

For those at CAK, this was Jamin second season touching a football. He's never thrown, kicked, nor touched a football at home or anywhere until April 2008. I picked him up from soccer practice and he was at the football field. He asked me if a 55 yard field goal was good? LOL

I wish CAK well next week. Alcoa has to loose sometime. Next Friday is as good as any.

God bless.

I got to meet Blitz tonight. What a great guy! Sorry I didn't get to meet Sportsnut. Good luck to your son at the next level!

Congratulations to McMinn Central on a great game tonight and a temendous season! You guys have a great football team, and played a great game tonight!

To the Warriors: Congrats on the victory! The hangover from the Alcoa game was exactly what I was concerned about. I had one too. Between that and the bracket issues.....

But somewhere in the 2nd half I saw the team come back to life, and the play on the field followed. Hats off to Central. Had they been an average team it would not have mattered, but the good teams aren't going to roll over and be dominated. My game ball goes to #8 Pegram. All year, when he has been called upon he has run hard. He does not run like a 160lb back! But tonight, he was called upon to do alot more, and he came through with flying colors! The play of the game goes to #18 Maddux. That interception sealed the deal, and had it not been for some quick action by the offensive player, it would have been 6 like it has been a couple other times this year.

CAK suffered from a couple of players who were not up to par tonight. #44 just wasn't himself. He has been IMO the emotional leader, and the leading tackler and just didn't look like himself. I heard he was sick. I understand #64 has been under the weather all week. I thought he played well, he just wasn't in there as much as I'm used to. On the flipside, I thought #14 (AKA #6) had his best game of the season. What a pick! I was glad to see the offense settle down in the 2nd half. Central had some WR/ DB's that posed match up problems, but in the end, our guys came through. Hats off to our WR's. They took some first class licks and held on to the ball.

Keep #45 in your prayers! I am hoping his ankle is nothing too serious. We need him next Friday!

God bless to the Central fans! Hope to see you guys next year!

To sportsnut5 & blitznbuc, it was very nice to meet you lastnight. I enjoyed the stories and "breaking bread" with you. Interaction with good folks from other communities really enhances the experience. McMinn Central brought a nice crowd and you were very supportive of your team. #11 had some impressive kicks, but the play I was most impressed with was his hit on the tackle of a kickoff right in front of our bench. Good job! (by the way, that was FBDjr that blocked Jamin's extra pt., sorry, not really, ha).

The game ended up being exciting, but I really didn't think either team played well in the first half. As GVK said, maybe the teams were still suffering from Tornado hangover. Too many turnovers & penalties. There were some good plays along the way, but overall both teams sputtered. The game ebbed & flowed back & forth, which made it exciting. I was certainly proud of our Warriors to put aside the poor play (some of it caused by the Chargers no doubt), penalties, turnovers, injuries, flat atmosphere, etc... and step up in the end and win the game. It would have been easy at times to just "mail it in" and give up on the season. Instead, they reached down and decided that it was not time for the season to be over. Congrats to the coaches, whatever they said or did helped the team in the second half, that's what good coaches do, help their team win when they are emotionally flat or struggling in a game. #42 really stepped up big lastnight and rallied the troops on D, and #14 had his best game IMO and made an outstanding interception in front of the Charger bench. Our fickle pass defense rose to the occassion when it mattered most with 3 picks. #18's interception was very timely and #20's sealed the deal. #8 really ran hard and got more out of his 160lbs than what appears possible on the surface. Great leg drive tonight, and we needed it. I thought we had some matchup problems coming into this game at certain positions and that proved to be true. But in the end the

Warriors prevailed. Win & advance.

Congrats to the Chargers on a good season. Hopefully we can meet again in the near future. Warriors, rest, prepare, battle. You know what lies in front of you. Another opportunity to glorify God through your actions and continue the building process for a young, but up and coming football program. :D

Footballdad, #11 is not your normal kicker. He's dead weight lifted 400+lbs, one of the fastest runners on the team. He's 6'2" weighes 185 lbs. He bothered his coaches all night to be put in the game to rush the QB. When they did he got his hands on the back of the QB. He's been known to put a hard hit when a runner thinks that all they have to do is beat the kicker. NOT this kicker.

Blitz remember when we brought that kicker home. He was 7 weeks old. This was one of our most blessed times in our family. He walked at 8 months old. Literally had a soccer ball at his feet at 10 months old. At 1 yr old we had to put the soccer ball outside. He kept kicking and trapping the soccer ball at the entertainment center, tables, and couch. At age 7 he would score from sweeper position, goal to goal. By age seven his peers called him "The Rocket".

Govolsknox - so sorry we didn't get to meet. God bless you guys, players, and the school.

I really care about the Central football players. There's a lot of good kids on that team. I pray they regroup, train, and work hard for next season. There are 13 seniors that are leaving key positions. Coach Goodin had a good first season. We appreciate all the coaches that work hard with these boys. May God bless the central coaching staff, players, and families. We've had A LOT of fun.

I thought all mentioned above played well. I also thought the receivers stepped up and made some big time catches. #15 with first TD and #21 with second. we have not gotten them the ball lately and our scores have shown it. They get back in flow and we score over 30 again. We must have them both involved in the offense to be effective

good hard fought football game last night. screens and draws hurt the chargers. good job seniors-ya'll have been a big part of turning this program around in the right direction!

chargers tackled better last night than they have all year long, rayl threw the ball well, simpson and moss caught the football. played well enough to win, just came up short.

get ready to rebuild!
