Blackman vs Riverdale

At Blackman as at EVERY school in Rutherford county the problem is a combination of NOT enough parking and roads to enable easy egress AFTER the game! In other words buy a snack just before you leave as you will be sitting in traffic for awhile!

 

Naturally I am pulling for R'dale because I REALLY want to see a second 'Battle of the Boro' this year!

 

I look at this game like I did the one we had with LC a few years ago when they were NUMBER 1 in the state and they had already beaten us during the regular season and causing us to lose our Number 1 RB due to injury. We went to the 'Pit' for the playoff game and WON!

 

We can do it AGAIN!

lod I think you are getting years mixed up not shure what RB injury you are talking about but i think you are talking about Taron Henry but that was in 02 when they broke his leg (not a dirty play)and they were ranked #1 in 03 if you remember we had runa play to win that game but an official threw a flag that no one knew what it was for it was so far off the film even the coaches didnt know what it was but Gaston took the pitch 80 yards for what we believed was a TD and there was a flag by our sideline at the line of scrimmage and they brought it all the way back...that LC team was a very good team that was one of those games that we had no business winning and we did

riverdaleman, it was the 02 season I was thinking about. In 02 Gaston and the clone were still Freshmen. While they had moved up to the varsity squad by then they were not seeing much playing time.

bulldogsalltheway, somebody needs to tell Cookeville and a couple of other places about the pay to park thing then because I have had to pay to park, and it was NOT a donation, at a couple of places.

 

I said I believe that was a rule, but I wasn't sure. I just went through the TSSAA handbook, and googled it to be sure and it looks like I am wrong on my assumption. According to many articles I have found there are tons of schools around TN that charge for parking, which I think should be optional. If you have to pay 8 dollars to get into a playoff game, and an additional 3 or 4 to park, that's too much! I have never paid at Cookeville, I pull up and they ask for the $$ and I refuse, tell them I am with the team and that if the buses didn't have to pay then neither am I.... has worked so far....

 

If they would make it optional like R'dale does then I would be more willing to pay it, but if it isn't something the TSSAA requires then there is no reason a school should be allowed to.
