Actually it is fun going back and forth with you because you can never win. Just like you claiming we are the one and done kings. Whats so funny about that is South has been put out in the first round more than DB. And that has always been against "Jerry's kids Teams". You people are not very smart.

Actually I'm convinced that if you did a genealogical study of South fans it would show that many of them have roots in the Middle East. Maybe in Persia, which is now Iraq. I don't know of anywhere else that people are capable of divorcing themselves from reality so completely. Remember all of Saddam's statements during Desert Storm, and his mouthpiece Baghdad Bob during Operation Iraqi Freedom? "If the imperialists dare to set as much as one foot on Iraqi soil the infidels will be destroyed in the mother of all battles," and "There are no tanks near Baghdad" etc. Then no matter how badly the Army and Marines would keep shredding their invincible Republican Guards they would keep saying the same stuff over and over. The thing is, I think they really believed it--really a deranged bunch of people who are so dependent on their image they are forced to deny the obvious, even to themselves, lest they lose face. And it's pretty much the same stuff coming from Pactolus. Every time we play they're loaded and going to get us this time, and then we beat their latest invincible team like a red headed stepchild and on the way home from the game they start talking about how they're going to kill us next year, and we're not really any good, etc. I'm sure there's a psychological term or two for that condition--maybe they can go get straightened out if Obamacare passes.

Excellent point Tribal. But, you have to admit, we South fans aren't the only ones that are not realistic. I mean, even the D-B faithful believe that they will one day win a state championship on the football field.

If Obamacare passes, you'll be right in the middle of us wanting to know where you buy a Rebel Flag.

Actually Persia is modern day 'Iran' and NOT Iraq. In fact the supreme insult to anyone from Iran is to call them an Arab instead of a Persian.

This lack of knowledge maybe one of the reason NONE of you can seem to find their way past the First Round!

Now this is good stuff right here. We don't learn much about football on here, but this is great stuff. And hilarious, as well. Congrats, Ole Dad, you get the "turd of the day" award (actually, a real compliment) for the best posts of the day. Of course, I knew all that Iran/Iraq stuff, I just didn't want to be the one to rile Tribal up.

Actually you South fans have assumed that position from us also. Your are the Kings of One & Done, and you start out every season talking about winning the State Championship. We learned our lesson.....You never will. :hungry:

Dad is absolutely right--Persia became Iran, not Iraq. Brain fart. But fortunately it's not material to my point, as the attitude I was talking about is found throughout the Arab world (and yes Dad I know that Persians/Iranians aren't Arabs, although Iraqis are).

Volman, I actually don't know many Tribe faithful at all who think we're likely to win a state FB championship anytime soon. It's possible if the stars line up just right, but not likely. We've had a couple of realistic chances in the not too distant past (the close loss to Red Bank in the semi's comes to mind, and oddly enough I think the 2007 team that had 3 early losses had a shot because there was no real powerhouse that year), but I think most of us recognize it's a tough row to hoe.

Tribal, the thing you wrote about Persia is a lot like my spelling, very close. The Persian Empire did take in what is now Iraq and a whole lot more than Iran for a pretty long time.So in fact, what was at one time part of Persia, did become Iraq.If you wanted to put a political turn to this.

Just to let you all know.. the DB-South game is under charter on demand if any wants to watch... :hungry:

That's my favorite DB vs South game of all time.I seen several, but my co-worker South fans were really talking big before the game.I told them I was taking the whole weekend off,so I wouldn't be tempted to rub it in !! When I seen them again,I didn't and it drove them crazy.

    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
