Final 31-27 WS. Spartans vs Maryville next week for the 6A state championship!!!

Congratulations, White Station! Great season, Brentwood.

 

Our Memphis area teams have FINALLY, FINALLY gotten over the "Middle Tennessee" hump! Hopefully we can continue that build on this break-thru.

All I've got to say to White Station about Maryville is this:

 

WATCH OUT FOR THE TRICK PLAYS, especially when they get inside your 30 to 40 yard line!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Everytime I've seen Maryville play, dating back to their 7-6 Championship victory over Melrose, they have almost ALWAYS thrown in a back-breaking trick play, in tight ballgames! It's usually some sort of (successful) Double-Pass back to the opposite sideline, back to the Quarterback.

First of all welcome to Williamson County, you'll find the Brentwood announcer to be "BRILLIANT" You'll see what I mean by this .haha

He needs to chill out, and they need to turn the volume down just a bit on their PA. It's as loud as LP field, and I can hear him a mile away, even though I don't want to.

 

I find the Brentwood announcer to be very entertaining. Everyone was just jealous. It should be middle TN going in to win the gold ball. It has been a great ride, Bruins. You should be proud. I know I am very proud of our boys. Watch out 2010 season.

Congrats to Brentwood on a successful season. However it is very disappointing that one of the Williamson County teams could not make it to the championship game this year. There was a fine tradition set before you and you failed to live up to it. For the amount of money that goes into these programs, it is hugely disappointing. Oh well time to start preparing for next year.

"You failed to live up to it?" - Don't know who you are and don't care but there were ONLY 4 teams playing last weekend and your's was obviously not one of them. I don't think a tipped pass away from the state finals is a failure. Sure we're dissapointed but this team overachieved all year and they are anything but failures.

I think most of the quotes regarding Arlington were good and correct. You did not come close to living up to your #1 seed. Your team got beat by a team that was lucky to get in the playoffs. Bitter much?

 

Good luck to White Station I will be pulling for you guys as well. Great game last night. Your offense has a lot of playmakers (especially the QB- WOW!) and I thought your defense was generally in all the right places (sounds like good coaching to me!).

 

How is the bystander that got hit last night? I heard two broken legs - is that right? I hope not.

Thanks for asking....I'm the bystander, actually I'm the team photog. I had a cast on my right calf area treating a tendonitis problem, so while it inhibits movement, it's not much of an issue. Last night it did impede my movement enough to keep me from getting clear of the action. The result is a broken tibia and fibula. So I missed the game, but will be getting it taken care of. It's in a temp splint/cast right now.

But from the texting and film I've seen, the Spartans did super! I'm proud of them!

Jealous of what???? Oh Jealous the best team wasn't playing White Station yeah your right. And it should be a middle tn team playing for the gold ball and they are south of brentwood. The announcer was just "FABOLOUS" lol.

    • While I appreciate being credited with multiple accounts, I have to say that is not true. Will you please report back to your people that I am not someone who provides sharp, witty banter, but rather someone who is putting the shoe on the other foot for some people that have been repeatedly bashing others here and in real life for the past few years?     • Yes this process is moving slower than I would have expected
    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county  
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
