What if Alcoa and Maryville played again now??

I think its hilarious when a team that has a good year starts comparing themselves to a program.

as for an MHS AHS rematch it would be tough to give an educated guess as most fans have seen one or the other on a weekly basis however I think its a toss up.

I dont care what any of those projection sites say; I believe Alcoa would beat MUS and Maryville would beat them as well or give them all they want at the very least. Alcoa is the best team in the state IMHO.....

I agree. After watching the MUS game last night and the Alcoa game today there should be no question who is the best in the state.

LOL, I like you Alcoa people, but I'm telling you that you would not beat MUS. You'd lose by about 17 points. Alcoa has players going both ways. MUS has 0 players playing both ways. Depth would be a factor and Barry Brunetti would be the deciding factor. I'm being unbiased here and giving my honest opinion. I know no one from MUS or have anything to do with MUS. They are just the best high school football team that I've ever watched in person and are ranked 9th in the country! I know we've had this debate earlier this year. It's not worth going back and forth about as no one will ever know if this years Alcoa team would beat this years MUS team. Enjoy your gold ball this year and keep on winning state championships in 3A! You guys have an awesome program going there in Alcoa that should be respected by people statewide whether you like 'em or not!

So you think MBA or Christian Brothers is as good as Alcoa. That's about the difference of score between these two team and MUS. I really find that hard to believe but your entitled to your opinion. Also these high school polls don't really prove much to me. It great to have nationally attention but what does it really prove when you have 2 undefeated team?? Having said that why don't you come back to Blount County to see the annual game of champions?? We would love to have you back.

I'm not saying that Alcoa is better than MBA or CB or that MBA or CB is better than Alcoa. I'm just saying that I think MUS is hands down the best in the entire state. Also, those national polls also look at the competition the teams play. For instance, MUS beat South Panola AND Olive Branch (2 national powers) thus MUS moved up in rankings quite a bit and kept winning. As for the annual game of champions, we just might make our way back next year! It was awesome to watch this year and should be entertaining next year.
