So by saying your close to the team, i am assuming you are a parent to a player.

Why is it always the coaches not playing the right kids? Why is it always the coaches playing kids out of postion? I'm assuming the ones that is questioning the coaches on this are at every practice, scrimmage, workout, and film sessions. I mean to know so much. If not I would quit my job today, and put in for a coaching job. If I was good enough to know who should be playing and where with out been at practice every day. I think you people should shut your mouths until you are at every practice, scrimmage, workout, and film session to see why the coaches did what they did. Then again it's to much work to get off your butts, and go see what kid out prefroms what kid. I mean it's easy to be a coach from the stand on Friday without knowing what going on at practice. I don't think these coaches put in all this time to lose. These coaches put kids in the postion that give them the best chance to win. If you don't believe this you need to find another team to cheer for we don't need you.

One thing that is not needed is disunity among the Patriot fans. Seems this discussion began on who should be the quarterback. I figure the coaches will make the decision that will give the team the best chance to win. I have my opinions, but they are just opinions. I am not evaluating the players on a daily basis at practice. Heavy C makes a good point when he says that the coaches are in this to try to win. They are not going to put players out there that will make it harder to do that. It should also be pointed out that players have certain expectations that have to be met regarding academics and off the field behavior. These should be taken into consideration as well. The team comes first. Everyone must be pulling together for a team to be successful. I firmly believe that every kid who played in a game last year, even for a single play, wanted to do well. It is possible for coaches to make mistakes, but since they see the kids perform more than anyone else, they have the most knowledge to make the best decisions on who does what. Not a disgruntled parent sitting in the stands on a Friday night.

I agree counteroption. Now is the time for us all to come together. It is no secret fact that JCHS football has been down in recent times but its on the upswing! 80% the starters last year were underclassmen and they were just one game away from the playoffs. If 18 juniors and sophmores can do that than I for one am excited to see what happens this upcoming. Great things can happen next year if everyone from the team to the fans comes together. Its time for jchs to have one of the best teams in east tn and its time for it to have the best fans in east tn!

I for one am excited about the upcoming season. I agree with linemanpat when he talks about wake-up calls and getting folks' attention. Aren't all of us guilty of complacency in our daily lives? We get into our routine and we roll along with the flow until something huge happens to get our attention. We see it every day: someone who was athletic and active in high school graduates, goes to work, lives life, gets comfortable and stops working out every day, stops making healthy choices in their diet and maybe other day-to-day decisions. Then one day, that visit to the doctor for your physical required by your workplace, or maybe just a visit for a nagging health issue that turns out to be something major. The doctor gives you the diagnosis and POW! Wake-up call. You start exercising again, watching your diet....all because something happened to get your attention. Why then should we expect teenagers to be any different? It shouldn't be as big a surprise to find a certain level of complacency among the young. After all, life is the greatest teacher, is it not? Last season was a huge lesson for this team. Many of the starters were part of an undefeated freshman team. They were also part of a JV team that lost only two games. This all came after major accomplishments at the middle school level. Why wouldn't they get complacent? These young men have had success after success. Last year was their wake-up call. Life taught them a lesson. Every single Patriot fan needs to cut this team, and the coaching staff some slack. Give them an opportunity to take the lessons of last season and use them to mold this team. Jumping on coaches seems to be a favorite past-time of a few folks here. And apparently some feel it's their right to jump on the players. People, you need to remember these are 16, 17, and 18 year old KIDS! They are also human! They're going to make mistakes. They're going to mess up. It's what they learn from those mistakes and how they use what they learn to improve themselves in the coming months as they prepare for this season that is important. From what I'm hearing out of the Valley, these guys are hungry and they are working hard to get better. Give them a break! Give them an opportunity. Don't defeat them before they ever take a snap in spring practice!!!! GO PATRIOTS!!
