TigerTrainer
Quit or fired??? Does this mean we have two positions open with Davis leaving also? Is Holiday next?

oldcat89
May be two positions available. I don't think Holliday is next, I think they go outside the system.
Southeastfootball
What were the circumstances around the dismissal? Was it simply lack of production? Something else?
Swildcat1967
Sweetwater has gotten a Coach, I wish Meigs the same luck and hope they find a good one. Always enjoyed playing Meigs, you can usually count on a strong hard working bunch that doesn't quit! I love to watch that type of player/team perform! TigerPride
What were the circumstances around the dismissal? Was it simply lack of production? Something else? Rumor mill has been quiet. I hope we can find a good fit. I don't think anyone from within the program is capable of doing the job. I have a feeling it will be a long process. Always enjoyed playing Meigs, you can usually count on a strong hard working bunch that doesn't quit! I love to watch that type of player/team perform! I heard that the parents went to the principal and stated the facts. Several talented kids would be moving to another program if things didn't change. They were very serious and had already started to make plans. Already lost Nathan Bradford, moved to Cleveland, because of it. Two of the coaches stated they didn't have any players that deserved awards for the banquet. They were told to GET awards. The kids played their heart out. The SAME plays were called over and over, didn't take long for the other teams to figure it out. Even the players could see the problem, but couldn't do anything about it. It can't get any worse. throwforsix
Ricky Holliday would be an outstanding choice to lead that program. I have talked to him throuhout the years and know him personally. He is a great coach, loves the area and will work hard. I don't know anything about this past year, but he has been there for the last couple of coaching searches and stayed through all of them. THat shows dedication so reward that. Tennesseesportsfan
Who does the hiring up there? Is it the director, schoolboard, principal or AD? Whoever it is they can't get it right. Good luck to Meigs, I hope you regain your proud tradition.

And losing Bradford wasn't a big loss.
