Newcastle, based on your logic Portland would be in the rankings too. They beat Hville in a game that mattered.

I don't disagree that Ravenwood should be in the rankings.

Yeah but Portland also lost to White House 2-0, so therefore they wouldnt even be in my top 100 if you ask me

First of all, try to know what you are talking about before you post on here

like the portland vs hendersonville game... burnley beat manchester united earlier in the year in the premier league. yes, the burnley fans celebrated in jubilation at their feat, but guess what.... burnley is at the bottom of the league and is going to be relegated to the 2nd division. so lesson learned... ONE GAME DOESNT MEAN MUCH

I enjoy getting the hendersonville fans started. You are just reinforcing my point. Your reasoning for Ravenwood being ranked was that they beat the high and mighty Cammandos in one scrimmage game. Rwood lost both other games against ranked teams. Your team lost their only game against a ranked team.

One game means nothing until it is your last. 1 can't make or break you.

I don't know anything about Portland. How did they go from nothing in A/AA to beating the mighty Commandos?

Tied a good Loudon team tonight. Played down at their place, and I can tell you they sure wanted to win. They went up 1-0 and kept on playing their hearts out. We tied it up with about 15 minutes left, and it seemed to light a fire underneath us, which happened to be a little too late. Proud of my boys for not folding up the tent when they went down. I look forward to seeing the result of the Loudon Alcoa game later this season.

who would win in a father ryan vs farragut game?

That would be an excellent game, either team could come away with a win there.

But Ravenwood should definitely be on these rankings, they beat an outstanding Hendersonville team 4-1(or 5-1) in a scrimmage. If you can do that against Hendersonville, you're a top team.

Agree Ravenwood should be posted in the top 25 (probably top 10) and that they were probably just overlooked. It happens. Don't know though that I'd base their ranking on beating Hendersonville during the preseason. In general I don't give much weight to preseason games, if any. As an example, Ravenwood defeated Hendersonville last year as well during the preseason. They then turned around and lost to Hendersonville in the Regionals when it mattered. This year, Ravenwood lost to Father Ryan during the preseason 1-0. No one doubts Father Ryan is a very good side, however, today's game between the same two teams in Hendersonville (4pm) will be a much better indicator. I expect the game to be a good one and that Father Ryan will win, especially in light of some key injuries to Ravenwood like St. Mary's (D1) signee Brandon Saunders who runs the show in the middle.

    • Yeah I am on board and plan on coming down from the Ridge for some home games, great Friday night atmosphere there.  I'm really hoping SC can get them back going and have some success for those fans and community.
    • Yep I was field level on the scoreboard end throwing ball with Benny when we had that brief lead. Everybody got very excited but it was short lived as Murvil regrouped and went into machine mode. But yeah,  that hit sounded like the crack of a black powder rifle being fire.  I believe Dozier took one like that as a Soph up at Greeneville after on olay block.
    • Ole Benny boy lol. I forgot about Harder. He was tough as crap. He graduated in ‘09. I went to the OR/Maryville game that year (great game, btw) and he collided with Jacob West (I think was his name) and you could hear it clearly at the top of the visitor bleachers. Man, it was a stick. He could lay some wood son. All those guys were tough, Elliott included.
    • They do have good community support for sure and did when I coached under Z for 4 years. (I was on that staff that turned them around a little from winning 1 game a year to actually being competitive).  Great Kids and Great Community over there.  They have done some good things with the facilities from when i coached too.
    • I personally will not mind that one bit.  It seems like a really strange fit to me from the git go.
