Lots of games against ranked opponents, rivals, and most importantly teams competing for district seeding. Just a few that stood out:

Lenoir City @ Bearden

Soddy Daisy @ CCS

Boyd Buchanan @ Cleveland

Morristown West @ DB

Father Ryan @ Franklin

Knox West @ Catholic

Maryville @ Oak Ridge

Independence @ Ravenwood

CBHS @ St. George's

Alcoa @ Stone memorial

Good Luck Everyone, we're gonna find out alot about our teams tonight. If I left out a big match, please add to list!

I'll be interested in the LC Bearden result. Each year, LC seems to give them fits. But this year, Bearden is coming off of a tough loss to Farragut, so they may be fired up.

Knox West and Catholic should be a great match, as well.

More interesting for us, is the Alcoa vs. Stone match. Stone has only lost one game this season. They have several good players (#7, #11, #10) who impressed us. Long bus ride for Alcoa (don't get me started on the TSSAA's view of districts). This game will have a big impact on the seeding of the district tournament.

G......Have you ever had one of those games where you drive or walk away and you are just glad you got out with a win? That is how I feel about our game with Stone Memorial. It was rainy, windy, and cold. Stone had some good players, but the environment was not to my liking. I will let Akula post his thoughts as mine are not the best right now. I need to think before I speak. It was a big win for us in many ways.

Like you I am not to thrilled with the distance involved in our district. While it is not great for you or us, it is even worse for poor Tellico Plains!

G, I hope to meet you after the game Friday.

Alcoadad already posted some notes and I'll add my thoughts on the Stone/Alcoa match.

The conditions were actually good for what the weather was doing, but the field was still slick and our touch was way off. We had to deal with some changes in line up that were unexpected before and during the match, but I commend the boys that stepped on in spots they have not trained for and doing a good job. It was a tough game to watch with little possession and mostly looked like ping pong and throw-ins. Not sure if the ball was as slick as the field but no one seemed to have a good touch. We scored off a few nice runs behind line and a rebound. They scored off some really quick counters that caught us in really poor shape. I give them alot of credit they have some really nice players in 10,7,11, and 9 that are played in really effective spots. They had us gameplanned well and frustrated us a great deal. It got a little chippy, but our center did a great job of pulling it back together and letting us play some soccer by the end. Can't lie, we had it 2 nil and were lucky to survive. Stone is a dangerous team that hasn't gotten much attention but they came to play tonight. With their result against CAK, I think they have shown they can play with some strong teams. Good Luck to the Panthers the rest of the way......Unless we meet up again :thumb:

And he was cut loose this spring from Scotts Hill. Heard him in a interview a few month back and he inspired me. He needs to be back home in the Purple & Gold, regardless of if he is HC or not or even if he doesnt coach at all, his presences will improve the environment. But Again, I have no clue if he would even be interested.

Not much shot to win a state title at Macon but could very well be a contender with the talent coming up through the peewee and junior high ranks in TC I hear. He my dark horse candidate. trousdale co fans could also brag to their neighbors that they talked their best coach into coming to TC on a year of such high expectations at Macon co.
