Don't worry you'll get your chance at payback. If I was you though I would worry about Sevier County. That game will be no pushover. All we care about is breaking the streak this week then proping our feet up for a week and getting ready for the tribe. I will say this be very careful what you wish for.

BLAH...BLAH...BLAH. You got a big surprise coming . Better wish for Mingo, or Fess Parker to show up.

I love the arrogance of DB fans. If I'm not mistaken you couldn't even win this watered down conference last year. Now, you may very well win the conference this year but to assume it is going to happen every year is laughable. Go ahead and keep sleeping on my trailblazers and lets see where that gets you.

Before last year, DB won the non-watered down Big East in 12 of the previous 15 seasons (including two seasons in which they were co-champions). In the remaining 3 years they placed second. So is assuming they're going to win this watered down conference (your description) every year arrogant and laughable, or pretty darn sensible? You're entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts. Get back to us when your team has won a few titles.

How about this for arrogance. Will you give us some respect this year when we drill your eyes out about 42-0? Mark it down, it's gonna happen. Just like a bad dream you can't wake up from. Roll Tribe!!!!!!!!!!

You are right on Batman. Central has got to figure out a way to keep their kids from leaving. It's tough to think about what might have been had at least 5 kids chose to stay at Central rather than go to D-B, South, Tenn. High. What's even tougher is to watch at least 8 of our kids go both ways and give it all they've got but just tire out. I know because one of those young men is mine. It's just too difficult to ask these young men to battle in the trenches both ways in this tough conference. I'll even through something new out there I recently heard and that is, the Downs kid from THS is a Blountville kid. Throw in Crowder, Weaver (South), Barger and Straley (D-B) and you have a pretty tough lineup that would compete very well even against the upper half of the Big 8. Oh well, what could've been had they made the right hire 3 years ago!

I think I know the solution to Central's woes but the South people are probably not gonna like it. With Kingsport already starting to annex Colonial Heights, Sullivan County should seriously consider allowing the city to take over control of South (perhaps a 3rd middle school) and redistrict the South kids back to Central, where they went anyway prior to 1980. Central's numbers would grow to the point where they could put a competitive product on the field again. Just thinking out loud.

Non-watered down? I forgot about the football powers of Campbell County, Jefferson County and Karns who are a combined 2-6 this year. Not to mention a few more years back when South-Doyle and William Blount were in the conference. If you want to look back 10 or 15 years thats fine I choose to keep it in the present and the present says you are not the defending Big 8 champs. I hope the team overlooks the rest of the conference like the fans, then you will be 0-2 (champions) in this weak conference.

Hey Sweep... you keep me a seat over in Death Valley... I will be there by Halftime. I look for the Sasquatch.... (just messin' with you).... Get it? Messing with Sasquatch.

Roll Tribe Roll

Don't waste your time. There won't be anything to see at our game by halftime either. I will save you a seat over at Nathan Hale Stadium. If you bring your band there may be about 4 seats left over for your fans.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
