They are not so young maybe inexperienced. Remember Kinderstart.

Boy you figured our little secret out, we let our young kids go to Head start. What's your beef there hairyman23? This is the second post you've made referring to "kinderstart". I've been following Oneida football closely for many years & can't recall a single senior that graduated older than 18. I think that's about the normal age for graduation isn't it. In fact a large number of our starters have to hitch a ride to & from practice because they are to young to drive. Now I'm sure you have a point but I'm beginning to think it is only valid in your little world.

BTW is there no kindergarten or head start in devil land?

Looks like the Indians are missing Coach Lambert.

We do miss Coach Lambert, but not as a defensive coordinator. The Indians have played very well on D especially against GP! Just about any good team you play will score at least 7-10 points, probably 14. That's why they are a good team. In order to win, you need to be able to score at least 14-17. I am using just general numbers, not exact statics here. The problem for Oneida is 10 fumbles/interceptions in the last two games leading to 8 turnovers! (maybe 7)

I said when this season started that they would be fun to watch, and they have been. A bounce here and there and this team could be 3 and 0. I know it frustrating, but Brewster is a young coach with a new staff and a really young team. It is what it is. Enjoy it. The ball will bounce our way again. Kaz, Smash, you know we have seen our share of rough roads and we will see them again.

Your 100% right Injun! I was prepared for the worse this year but Dang, having seen these boys play, my expectation went up like 1000%! They are a really, really good team. That offense is leathal if they can just hold on to the dadgum ball! Big If!

Im not worried bout the razzing! Next year this entire team will be back and the year after the Indians will be 4 deep at every position and probably starting a Freshman LB. That will be a hoot! 8-)

Oh no...next year? We won't be young or inexperienced next year at all. Either way, we could have a team full of Methuselah's...turn the ball over 8 times in two games....not gonna win, period.

Speaking of excuses....What excuse are you using for your Coalfield loss? Did the sun get in your eyes? Almost time to kiss the baby sunshine!

This is one of my favorite games of the year. Even though it's a non-district contest, both of these teams usually go after each other pretty good. I know last years game was a blow out, but that was last year. CG is coming off a tough loss to a pretty good South greene team. How they react to that will be a big factor into whether or not they can keep it close. They had a ton of missed opportunities on friday. Hopefully this week they can convert those. Oneida is always known for their toughness and their physicality. CG will really have to step up to the plate if they plan on winning this game. Oneida always plays great defense and they always have a sound running game. Sounds to me, from hearing the rest of you all talk, that turnovers have been killing them this year. I'm looking for a great game. Both teams need a win in the worst way. CG is at home and that will help them. Oneida is a class act and they always have been. Thats one reason i love this game on CG's schedule. Oneida fans know their football and you can have logical discussions about the game itself and not a bunch of "toothless" garbage and smack talk. I expect a good game and a hard fought game that could come down to the wire. Best of luck to both teams and i hope that its a clean hard hitting ballgame with no injuries to either side.

CG's offense is the same as Wartburgs in fact Wartburg went to CG in the spring so CG could help them with the system. CG may run it better but I think with Oneida playing against it a week before it will benefit them. I don't know about CG's defense but I saw a tough one from Oneida.

NO TURNOVERS

Hey veerman! Good to see ya. It's like a long lost cousin you only see on the 4th of July. The Indians have a pretty good team, just have to get past some of the mistakes. When all 11 boys on offense are motivated and moving in the right direction, they are tough to stop. Coach May is the real deal. You'll see a lot more sets this year. The Defense has played really well. A few errors have left the Indians backed up to their goal line. Hard to stop a team when they start on the 10 yd line.

I hope the Indians get it turned around. The youngsters on the team should be loosing some of the green. I'm expecting a good game from you all.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
