The late 60's-early 70's was the heyday for NET athletics in general. MoEast Football 1969. Ketron, Football 1970-1974. Sullivan West Football 1974 Chris Morelock Georgia Tech, DB Track, 70-74 with Darwin Bond, Andre' Releford, Skip Brown, Sullivan Central Basketball with Dan Moody and crew, and of course Tennessee High football. Those are the ones that come to mind.

Are you trying to make some ludicrous point… or do you really not know the answer to that?

I know when D-B won theres,Just trying to find out why you keep talking bout Blount County. How many times did yall go past Blount County??And your last STATE TITLE,Was when???Just wondering what is your excuse NOW??Yall had the # 1 seed and home field last yr and couldnt get it done.Lets compare a min.6A or 5A which is harded to win a STATE TITLE in Football??With all the CRAP we talk i want to see what you think. Now remeber we took your MARYVILLE away,So what is stopping yall from winning it this yr or last yr??Say yall get to the TITLE game and lose ,say by 1.What does that mean?Your still a LOSER and you have nothing to show but a SILVER ball.WOW your 2nd,But like they say your FIRST LOSER.Tell us CAP why is TH going to win the STATE this yr??

 I can't say what I want to because my mother taught me not to make fun of the handicap... and it's obvious that you're not playing with a full deck (seriously). But I will admit that you make me laugh. :D Let me just help you with this advise. DB will win a debate in MANY different categories.... but (now listen closely) State Titles is not one of them. So you really need to do some research... but in the mean time you should just change the subject. I'm just sayin.... :thumb:

I will have to agree somewhat with werDB2, since Maryville going to 6A it does make the path to the 5A state championship game a little easier for teams up this way. So with that said, good luck to all the 5A teams in NET, TN High looks like to date you all have the best chance so go out and get it and I for one will cheer you on.

We all still have a long way to go until we can realistically begin to talk about playoffs, so let's keep our focus on the "1 game at a time" mentality.

Roll Tribe!

Go NET Football, (except for Science Hill)

You can't say what you want because you know CoachT will kick you off again. Looks like you've conceaded upper east tn. to the Indians and all you have now is the "DB can't win a state championship" line. What I can't figure out is how does this help you or Tennessee High. What is your big interest in Dobyns Bennett? Why are you so concerned?

I don't see it helping upper east tn. 5A any. Maryville being in the way was always a myth anyway. Very few times did a team from NET make it far enough to even play Maryville. Theres two 5A teams in Knoxville standing in the way this year.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
