Protecting the football seems to be a recurring theme so far throughout the season. Must be corrected.

Thought some of our younger guys stepped up well tonite. The injury report last night was grim.

Congrats to MBA. They have rebounded from their own injury report!

Will have my flags out ironing them tomorrow and getting ready to mount them on the Jeep!

Congratulations to MBA - sounds like this game was a good one.

Any word on the official? We lost a really good man at a BA pre-season game 3 years ago (a TSSAA ref and a BA dad)and when I heard about the official going down tonight it made my heart miss a beat. He is certainly in our prayers . . .

Official was apparently coughing up blood. He has had two heart attacks previously and word has it may have been going through another. Fortunately, St. Thomas is right across the street.

Please let us know what the status is on the official. He is in our prayers.

Congratulations, MBA. Sounds like McCallie gave you something of a fight.

Sounds like McCallie gave you something of a fight.

Major understatement. McCallie moved the ball pretty much at will. The stories regarding MBA's defense are a lot of hype based on shut-outs of Pearl-Cohn and Maplewood, both of whom were fairly undisciplined, and showed what one might charitably call "early season organizational issues." MBA's wins over Ensworth and McCallie come down to the ability to force and capitalize on fumbles. (Conversely, Baylor had one fumble, and won.) Their pass defense is porous in the extreme. A telling stat on that score is that the team's first interception came late in the 24th quarter of the season. Next week's trip to BGA should be an adventure.

    • Looks like South Pittsburg added some more talent!
    • So much talk about an investigation about student record manipulation and then everything has went silent. Has anyone heard how the investigation is going?
    • Basically what you're saying is schools can basically bully students around and get away with it because they are protected. I agree to a certain extent but when schools decisions to keep knuckleheads on staff starts costing kids careers and a college education there is a problem. Our school system last week had a teacher supposedly push a kid and the parents went to the law and the teacher is suspended. So I wouldn't say that they can just do what they want without liability. This case don't pass the smell test because the coach had already been fired before and she got fired after a year on the job. Sounds like the student was right in this case on the outside looking in because the coach gets fired after one year. How many coaches get fired after one year?? Not many.
    • Problem with DB football goes beyond coaching. Like Waco said. Thr band is the main focus of their community and school. They have the resources to be a championship level team. Guarantee Ballard or Witten could have them nationally relevant at some point but everyone down to peewee would have to buy in and at DB we all know that would never happen.
