I am with the earlier posts, who cares!!! The all DA team will be out at 3:00, what type of person puts out a lists like this!! Proably a parent of a former player on the list or somebody who is really bored. Is there a Lipscomb Hall of Fame I can come to and show my boy some weekend!

i am wondering the same question. who WOULD post an all-DA team??? do ANY players from DA play D1 or ever have?????? let alone in the nfl

As I have said before, you guys from BA make comments like you do and then wonder why people don't like you. Unbelievable

Bighurt, you are right about most of the BA students on this board...they are just on here to see how many people they can insult/disparage in any way possible, while bragging about so-called "stars" who actually don't even start. Neither do the ones who are posting. Don't judge us all like that, though...I go to BA and I know several others who do and post here, and they have class, unlike a select few...

Indian,

You are right about Paul Glenn. He was a great running back and linebacker in the late 80's. He was on the teams that faced some awfully good Sequatchie Teams in 87 and 88.

He was as good a LB as has come through Lipscomb.

That 87 Sequatchie Team was one of the most hard nosed defensive and expolosive offensive teams that I've seen. That wishbone with 2 split ends, a good QB and 3 solid running backs made them hard to defend.

The bad thing about "all time" teams is that most of the fans who keep up and vote are voting with a perspective of the last 3-4 years. But hey, it's just for fun.

Pipe down, wes. you dont even play any sports at ba. sure you are a good commentator, but when it comes down to it, you do not understand what is being discussed. sure school spirit and knowledge is good, but most of the time, in sports at least, it doenst work. you have to have some experience. experience lets you know that ba hates mba, something that cannot be seen from the stands. experience lets you know how hard work pays off. experience also lets you know what to be proud of. i know that you know that ba has a lot to be proud of regarding sports, but dont say that i have no class when i talk trash on here. if you were an active athlete in ANY sport, you would know that trash talking is a huge part of any game. also, it is just fun too.

When did anyone from ba ask why people dont like us??? i dont remember anyone asking that. nobody likes us anyways, that is why we got forced out of our regular division along with others in the Super Seven. Nobody likes a team that wins and wins and wins. you wonder why i make comments like that??? because it is true, and the truth hurts. that is why nobody likes us.

87 team was good but could have been better. A starting defensive tackle and an outside linebacker type both were ineligible, another lineman probably would have started too but had medical problems. Team had 70 working out in the spring but it was down to about 35-40 if that many by the fall. Only 6 seniors were left by the time the season started. Still, if I remember right there were 5 or 6 eventual all-state players on the field at Lipscomb, about that many small college players and 1 that went on to start at defensive end at Air Force and Vanderbilt. The guy delivered the hardest hit I've ever seen either in person or on TV against Grundy County one night. Beat Lipscomb 38-13 that season, lost to Smith County in first round in sort of a choke but I don't want to get into that. Remember Scott Dirkson at Smith anyone?. Lost I think 14-7 to Lipscomb in 88, the 88 team turned out better but started out 1-3 with a new coach. Went on to make it to the quarterfinals, lost 24-14 to a pretty good Alcoa team with Billy Williams and Shannon Mitchell. They were decent players lol. I'm putting together an "all time team" for Sequatchie, probably will make two with one going back 15 years or so and another of players before that. I didn't know a good way of comparing 280 pound lineman and 4.5 sprinters with players from the 50s and 60s. I know it won't be as good a team as Brentwood Academy or a lot of programs but it's actually better than what I thought it would be.

O.K., Blount. So which is it "they have class" or "nobody likes us anyways"? Why are you posting on Alltime Lipscomb Team Announced board and what is your point?

    • The Girls Basketball team I am a part of played for a gold ball this season. One of the biggest differences in the sports is that there is no field prep/maintenance in basketball.   Our baseball is successful and play 30 games in the regular season as well. All of the teams dedicate A LOT of time in preparing for their next opponent.
    • Im pretty excited about the new rules that NFHS voted to adopt. Does anyone know if this will take place in Tennessee starting this year? I think I heard/read somewhere that the TSSAA bi-laws say they have to mirror what the NFHS does, and when the NFHS offered the current weight classes as options, TSSAA didn’t adopt them until NFHS made them official. Did NFHS make these changes official starting next season or will it be similar to the weight classes where TSSAA doesn’t change what they are doing until it is  an officially official part of the NFHS rule book? It’ll be interesting to see if it is rolled out for the new TSSAA Middle School season and I saw a post where the youth wrestling in TN was going to vote on adopting it as well.  I’ll pray for all the youth coaches that will have to shoulder the confusion from all those crazy #### parents who already think they know the rules more than everyone else  . Imagine the first time their kid is taken down and a 3 goes up on the scoreboard or their kid gets pinned with only one point of contact in the cylinder. Their heads might explode. i kid, I kid. Sort of. I’m surprised ride time was brought down with all the other changes. I know some argue that it promotes stalling on top, but its been an official scoring method in college forever, so I figure it must be doing something right. Do any of you think that’ll ever be implemented?
