Jo Byrns-Cedar Hill will mercy rule this opponent as well. It seems like this team has mercy ruled every opponent this season. It looks more and more like Jo Byrns-Cedar Hill IS the team to beat in 1A this season. Nashville Christian isn't a very good team. Jo Byrns-Cedar Hill was have NO problems.

There one point from being undefeated and 8-1. Dont know any 8-1 teams I would call bad.

NCS has mercy ruled 5 of their opponents this year as well.

The last time NCS beat JB was back in 2004. Since then JB has completely dominated with the last 3 games against the devils they have out scored the Eagles 139 to 0. However this year is different. The Eagles should be able to move the ball and score some points. The Eagles have just as many offensive weapons but the key is slowing down the JB offensive machine.

2009 Jo Byrns (Cedar Hill, TN) * 0-44 (L)Box Score

2008 Jo Byrns (Cedar Hill, TN) * 0-40 (L)Box Score

Below are the 3 keys players that have made Jo Byrns one of the highest scoring teams in the state this year.

Brandon Adkins (QB): 77 of 115, 1403yds, 23TD’s, 2 INT’s

Brandon Holt (RB):75 carries, 705 rush yds, 353 rec. yds, 15TD’s

#1 Frankie Traughber (RB) 36 carries, 597 rush yds, 133 rec. yds, 11TD’s

If the Eagles can slow these guys down NCS may have a shot at winning the District and would also give NCS home field advantage for the regional playoff game. Not sure the last time NCS has been in a position to say that.

Matt Ogle (QB): 58 of 90 for .644%, 1006 yds 10TD’s.

Nick Weiss (RB/WR & KR) 93 carries, 878 yds, 14TD’s. 11 Kick off returns for 340 yds 30.9 avg 2 KR TD’s.

Thomas Knobloch (WR,K,KR,P,PR) 39 receptions 803 yds 9 TD’s. 20 touch backs, 34/punt avg. Avg 13 yard per punt return, has a kick off return for TD, Int for TD, 27 PAT’s.

I keep seeing in alot of these threads over the past few weeks, that CA would have beaten NCS, if CA's best player played in that game. Somebody mentions it on this thread too. Who is the CA best player that would have beat NCS?

They was saying there QB was out first 3 game's and was the difference maker in the NC game

    • Hmmmmmm doe dee doe doe……sounds like they are leaving Geenback faster than the lawnmower will go in fifth gear.  Hmmmm….. you can bet the lawnmower on that.
    • West looked solid...excited to see this young group excel
    • When you have a school that right at 200 kids only half are going to be male and to get 25% of them to come out for football is a very hard task. Take away an 8th grade syatem and your you have another hill to climb up. If 5 kids are actually leaving your not going to have enough for practice. Your only chances for wins would be against the weakest of weak teams. At one time Greenback had kids coming across the wall like the Mexican Border and now their leaving town before sundown. A hugh mistake was made on not hiring Ryan back because of his ties to the community and his ability to bring in the right kids, not run them off. The last coach failed because he wasn't one of community so they go out and do it again. I'm sure Coach Clemmer is a good person because I do know people that do like him but he is caught in the middle of a fan base that will not support him no matter what and it could lead to a disaster if that many kids are leaving the program. The person that caused all of this mess has no business on the school board and needs to stick with hiding in the bushes giving out speeding tickets to out of towners coming through.
    • My outsider looking in perspective is Oliver Springs, Coalfield, Rockwood, and Harriman: fill out the top 4 good teams that beat up on the bottom and will all be in a good place to win in the 1st round with one team maybe making it farther. Midway: funnily enough in the middle an alright team that can beat the teams below them but not the top 4 misses the playoffs but still has a decent record. Oakdale, Greenback, Sunbright: round out the bottom each team has its problems and with a rough region and challenging non-conference records may not be pretty. Oakdale graduated lots of talent and experience, Greenback is in all sorts of internal turmoil with their new coach, and Sunbright small roster tough region not tons of Fb played. (Teams could be rearranged with other teams in their groups but this is how I see them finishing)
    • Kids quitting to focus on one sport could be a worry but multi-sport athletes transferring out would damage more than just football so I think the people who made this decision could find out they are going to get burned in multiple ways.
