MTP @ Mckenzie

McKenzie Rebels and Mt. Pleasant Tigers are both quality football programs or they wouldn't be in the playoffs ever year. I am hoping for an injury free ballgame for both teams and that both teams show good sportsmanship. I am also hoping for a safe trip for Mt. Pleasant players and fans to and from Mckenzie. I think it will be a great game and hopefully the winner can advance far in the playoffs and I sure hope that it is the McKenzie Rebels.

GO REBELS!!!!

You want a fact finley here's one for ya. McKenzie wins big! :popcorneater:

18-16. Not exactly a big win. McKenzie offense had the ball forever(they played ball control bigtime). I bet there were 12 3rd and 4th down conversions(ridiculous). MP only had the ball like 5 or 6 times the whole game. MP had a 60 yard drive that stalled at the Mckenzie 19 at the start of the third. It was a close hard fought game. Back and forth. McKenzie kicked a 23 yard? field goal to win with 17 seconds left. MP muffed a punt to set it up. Special teams turned out to be the difference. MP turned it over in the red zone with a pick early in the game. I think each team had 1 turnover a apiece. Tough loss. I know how you feel. Been there. McKenzie fans were awfully cocky before the game. Some MP fans were just obnoxious. I had a feeling it would be close like this. I knew MP had the capability, but they came up just short.

A great MTP team just came up short in another MTP McKenzie match up. I will be the first to admit I underestimated MTP. I got my $8.00 worth, great job Rebs.

Thnx chip in tn for the admittance of underestimating us, butchie we need to play twice a year, great for football and maybe we can figure way to win one, as i said we got respect just not the win. Im still proud of our guys as i know u guys r to.

    • Well personally I see us going 9-1 so that isn't doom and gloom to me , Most people are thinking 6-4. Bearden will be the possible loss but hoping not. I was very impressed with what I saw this spring.
    • the kid you are speaking about, played in JV games,  2H half Science Hill game, split time in Hardin Valley and Bearden and that was it.   The upcoming Senior RB was All Region as a Junior and is regarded by the media as one of the top running backs in East TN for 2024 season. Scouting services have him as a top 10 back in the state.  Something aint adding up with gloom and doom. Maybe he was hurt and not at spring practice when you watched?
    • It won't be long now, he gone.
    • Are you kidding me?  You are just trolling now.  The new head coach's qualifications would be volunteer coach at the Oak Ridge Boys Club?  C'mon man, you can't be serious.  You're trolling us.  Anybody working at Clinton High School has to be like a cat in a room full of rocking chairs at this point.  They are coming after anybody and everybody that had knowledge of what was going on.  This is about to get real ugly.  Only in Clinton.
    • So no way they can compete with the likes of McCallie or Baylor still then
