It wasn't like Hughes was wide open too many times. He is just so quick and can pull up without needing much space. I hope he wins Mr. Basketball.

What Hughes does is a lost art, little mid range jumpers and hes dot it down. Glad you enjoyed the game.

Yeah you're right Goose, votes are already in, but Hughes is definately deserving to be one of the finalists.

I also thought Harriman had a very talented team, they just lost their composure from time to time. Hampton beat a good team.

Harriman was wore out by the 4th...both bigs were in foul trouble but Hill played like a MAN!

And Lyons is just an animal....big plays tonight from him and Trusler.

Ward was a thorn in the side of Harriman, especially on D......Jones controlled the floor without a single turnover....Discipline allowed for a great win and one of the best performances I've seen in some time by Hughes....I don't think I saw a poorly chosen shot from any of them.

And Hassett had a few big buckets....GREAT TEAM WIN MEN

You're correct....but that's Hampton's bread and butter....the lil "stop on a dime" and shoot the 12-15 footer.

Every good player from Hampton has that shot...although Hughes wore it OUT tonight!

Sounds like they had to change the nets at half time tonight! Good call by your  scout by the way. Sat beside Jason tonight and he let it slip who it was but I'll not tell! :thumb:

Dang Jason and that mouth :)

When he told me we both should win these hands down, I felt good about getting the W.

That man has a great basketball mind...it's just getting those around him to do what he knows....

Congrats Hampton and Cloudland with CA out of the way the door is open.

But there is now a Viking in da house..6 state championships. CA beaten on their floor. Don't count those chicken's before they're hatched. Anyways that is a great accomplishment to the 2 teams out of the same county.

I had one say that to me today and I said, "count em? Heck, I've already plucked em!"

We're not counting nor plucking from here on...that was a heck of a job by you all!

    • Who’s going to lead the pirates offense this year?
    • Pickett is good, may have a Mr. Football like season if he’s used correctly. One of the best teams Marion has fielded in a while. I think they go 12-1 and loose to ER.  ER has better players at almost every position. If they play discipline this year, they win soundly. If they don’t though…Marion could sneak away with it.
    • I’m betting the house on the Indians. Pickett and Co will be the only team to challenge the Indians in the East. Huntingdon can in the West. I think Brooks goes 15-0 and has the first perfect season and state championship in ER history.
    • Sounds like a great opportunity has opened up for the football team.  With the head coach of the diamond rebels making it official and quitting this week, there should be some room for the gridiron guys to benefit. I assume the administration won’t continue paying six figures to two former coach that quit to continue teaching drivers Ed. Thats pretty good money that could be redirected toward the football program. Also, with the more recent policies of pushing kids to only play one sport, abolishing the baseball program altogether would help on Friday nights in the fall. There is some decent speed on that baseball team that should’ve been playing on Fridays IMO. I’m not sure if anybody would really miss that baseball program anyway with it being across town from the school. The liability of letting players actually use the facilities could also be mitigated with closing the program. That liability seems to be a really big issue for 825. Anyway, it seems like a great opportunity is available.
    • Yeah, I read about their spring blue/gray scrimmage after I typed that.   Sounds like a real mess over there.  I just hate that for 'em.  Haw
