How long will coach Williams last...if owls dont make playoffs again? I for one think the powers that be.,.will give him a couple of years,the"young and inexperienced"excuse will not cut it this year.Owls have 25+ seniors(18 started last year)....so next year will be another quote"rebuilding year"for the owls,so what does everybody think?Owls only recently(10yrs ago)found success in football,so does the Ooltewah admin.hit the panic button or wait a few years,if owls lose every year? and I only say this assuming Ooltewah has a loosing season this year.If Owls kick some arse and make playoffs,then none of this really matters does it?

From experience, It will take OHS 5 to 6 years to even start to recover from a new school being built in such close proximity, if then. When you start sharing your players with other schools such as East Hamilton it has an devistating impact. Not just football, Basketball can withstand it better than other sports, but baseball and then on down the line will struggle for awhile. Also expect the booster money to dwindle way down. It makes it very tough unless you drop down several classifications.

Practice in shorts is good for heat ,bad for being physical. May have to do some more hitting drills to make up for it. Glad Ringold scrimmage more is than a quarter.

Like Phish says, maybe in a year or so, it will level out. However, after the Canes have put freshman and sophomores on the field the past 2 years and struggled, you are gonna see a team with a lot of experience this year, a team that will challenge the Owls. A big line, a QB that can throw, receivers that can catch (ask Soddy) a tailback that ran for over 1000 yds as a sophomore, a mean bunch of linebackers, and a defense like u have never seen before. The best part of 8/26 for the Owls will be the $$$ they make on the gate.

You must have already heard about the kicker/punter (see below from MurphyFair website). We graduated a good punter/ kicker, he got a scholarship to play college ball. This years boot has really improved, but so has all the team. I hope Owls have a good season, but don't discount East Hamilton!

It took Bradley 5 or 6 years to recover from Walker Valley being built but we are finalyl a winning playoff program again. It will take the owls some time to get back in the mix im thinking 2013 or 2014.

With all that talent and size i dont see East Hamilton losing maybe 1 or maybe 2 games at the most and going deep in the playoffs...........maybe even winning state!!! How many transfers in the group????

2-3 transfers. But all the starters have been on the team or were on the freshman team last year.

I'm sure EH will be improved but those prospects look to be players just submitted by coaches, not opinion by recruiting "experts". Doesn't mean a lot until they get on the field and accomplish something (and in more than scrimmages before the Polk scrimmage is brought up).
