Space, I hope your right about the running game. Alot of that depends on the front 5. Which is a little young. I think they'll be servicable though. Our sophomore class is busting with talent, but thats it. Their sophomores. I just hope they grow up quick. We'll get a good look at the skill players in the passing league coming up in 2 weeks. The #22 is making alot of noise, but remember he's young too. He's out there on the island by his self at corner. Week 0 will be a huge test. CAK returns 3 junoirs WR that started every game last season. The #22 is going to sharpen his skills at the Eric Berry elite defensive camp tommorrow, hope he can learn something to add to his skill set. We got to play better team defense this year, thats AC's ticket in 2011.

HOOK EM' HORNS GO MAVS!!!!

CAK OH Boy! Who scheduled this team.......Davey? If they are anything like they were last year Boy it might be a long night for AC. I am scratching my head on this one LOL. Like you said AC#22 AC is young! These boys will have to become men really quick before the first game, that is. But I think AC knows what they are doing on this one. After all not a district game and even with a lose you get to see where you stand or set on the benchmark for the upcoming season and district.

HOOK EM' HORNS GO AC!!!!!

Maverick is a term, usually referring to cattle, for an animal that does not carry a brand.[1] In the period of the United States open range, such animals were relatively common. Many cows would give birth in wild or semi-wild conditions, not be located in an annual round up, and their ensuing calf could thus grow to maturity without having been captured and branded for ownership. The term derived from Samuel Maverick, who, among his other claims to fame, was notorious for not branding his cattle. :thumb:

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
