Well once again Jo Byrns was on the wrong end of a butt whoopin! We gave up 370 yards rushing tonight...that makes 1,001 yards rushing given up by this defense in just four games. Many Jo Byrns teams didn't give up 1,000 yards of rushing in an entire regular season. Humboldt lined up in I-formation and ran lead plays the entire night and made us like it!

 

I knew early on this year that this team didn't have the horses to get it done and it's showing. It doesn't help that the horse we do have is hurt but still...the defensive performances are straight garbage. Somebody needs to lose their starting job! The sad thing is we probably don't have anything better on the sidelines??? I hate to sound like chicken little but this is just the start of a drought for the Devils. It's going to be at least 3 years before we can get back to an upper level of competition.

 

I'm glad we scheduled some tougher teams early on...it lets us fans know early on what we've got and doesn't give us a false sense of hope.

 

Congrats to Humboldt on the win...y'all have a nice team with potential to make a deep playoff run. But since I'm raining on parades:lol: I don't think y'all have what it takes to beat a typical Trousdale County team.

If Grider can get our kicking game straightend out, we might have a chance to beat these Joe Byrns boys again if we play them again in the championship game. I bet Joe Byrns will fall completely off Murphy's pole this week. You think im joking but im not.

You tell Grider to get that mess straightend out!!! As for JB, they haven't been on Murphy's pole since week 1.

I wasn't ready to see that show. My hat's off to Humboldt. They ought to be called Humble-boldt 'cause that's what they did tonight to JB in The Dungeon. They were so fast that I didn't get to tell the Viking starters how well they played when they ran thru the gate. This is not the same JB team that showed up at the ER jamboree and gave WH all they wanted...I just wonder if we'll get to see that team again.

      Sorry Barn. I wasn’t specific enough. It seems I’m always protecting the principal at 825. My interactions with her have been extremely positive, but very limited. With all the other stories being told, I’m confident there are other sides I am not aware of. Regardless, there are lots of decent people earning good checks up there. Maybe too good, which explains why no one is willing to speak up. My beef is with the poor communication among the athletic programs and with the administration. Seven years ago the poor communication led to my son missing graduation due to a sporting event that was planned months before. I chalked it up to the system being totally shocked that the baseball team made it out of their district, and our then AD was a football coach. Maybe they were surprised and did not plan appropriately. That was more palatable than they just didn’t give a crap. Déjà vu, seven years later, same thing. Different administration, but same result.  Maybe in seven more years, it will actually be “about the kids”. They should do better.
