92, the focus is on central. But take away Mobley and Powell is so beatable. Big task I understand, but it can be done. Maybe not us but somebody will. You watch and see.

HOOK EM' HORNS GOIN BOBCAT HUNTIN'!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course they are beatable 22. Any team is beatable. In hs, you take away a teams best or most important player and that team will most likely struggle.

Look at how OR struggled once Zulliger went out. We could be 2-2 if we had our starting qb.

I will be pulling for u guys! I just like giving Space a hard time cause he is so annoying....lol.

HTV you can commit on this thread and talk football.... Knox County Powell @ Clinton/Anderson County high school..... :roflolk: Kidding, AC has there work cut out for them this game. Powell I bet has been waiting on this game for a long time!!!!!! Cant wait :popcorneater:

As I said in the "other" thread, I look for a really good football game. AC started the year "slow", losing to 2 very good football teams, but has evidentially found the answers to some questions that they had early on. They are always a very tough football team, but especially when playing at home.

I see a lot of comments about how if you stop Mobley you stop Powell, and yes, Oak Ridge did a good job of doing that for a half of a football game on Thursday night. A football game isn't just two quarters, however. The bottom line is that Powell made offensive adjustments that Oak Ridge couldn't counter. Powell is more than just Dy'shawn Mobley, whether one wants to believe that or not. If the entire defensive plan is to stop Mobley, then there are others who can hurt the defense, starting with the quarterback.

On the other side of the ball, Powell has to slow down the AC offense, too. With 4 games under its belt the timing of that quick strike attack seems to be getting there.

I thought our defense played their best game of the year. The "BIG MO" plays a huge part on a young team in a big game like this week. Hopefully we wont "beat ourselves" by turning the ball over like the 4th qtr at CAK. One key element to the game will be to establish the run so we are not playing from 4th and very long like we did last year at Powell.

BTW...I thought we were going to have more of a "scoring" kicking game this year. The 4th and "X" inside field goal range and always having to go for the 2pt conversion will cost teams games. I sure would of liked to have had 3 extra pts against Grace. With as much soccer as I see around here on Saturdays... surely we could find a field goal kicker. Anyone have any insight as it relates to the kicking game?

I agree HTV I think Powell QB will be a factor in the game AC will half to play a perfect game (4 QT) to come out with a win.

I totally agree with you HTV, AC will have to play against the full Powell team. But I think if AC can stop/survive Mobley through the 3rd quarter this will be a manageable game. AC cannot afford to give up the big plays. That is why so much emphasis is on Mobley. You know as well as I do big plays are heart breakers and crowd shakers. Big plays can take the heart out of Good players really quick. This is not the kind game I like see not matter who is playing.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
