Friendship Christian vs. Trousdale

I expected to see a better showing from both FC QBs. Neither were effective. Jackets finally

came alive late in the 2nd half, and put it away. Sorry officiating crew. Sometimes had no

idea what to do with a call or the ball.

Oh, well, as Coach Creasy said, the only thing better than beating FC, is beating them twice.

Actually, more than that. On to next week.......

If Hartsville is going to beat Friendship twice this season, then the second meeting better happen in the first round of the playoffs. :roflol:

There was no flag and no chicken, no mascot planting a flag on TC's field - just some fireworks after the game to celebrate TC's victory over FC.

Well, they did have a flag, but never attempted to stick it on the field. Personally,

I would have loved to stick it up the guy with the horns a..... It eventually went

silent tho.

On a side note ( no pun intended ), someone needs to have a sit down with our band

director & tell them to shut up during the play. These folks bang away continually

regardless of who has the ball. Coach Creasy, twice last nite sent word for them to cease.

Very annoying. Can't hear the plays, the field announcer or anything else. A little courtesy

& common sense should come into play here. Drum roll on kickoff, after a score, halftime

show, then watch the game like everyone else. During band competitions, you don't see

a football team start a ball game in the midst of it.

Grunt,

While I respect your knowledge of all things Trousdale County football, on this post I will have to disagree with you about the roll of the band at a high school football game. I do agree that the band should not play while your team has the ball unless you score or have a big play. However, I personally heard Clint Satterfield tell a former TCHS band director that having the band play while other teams were on offense was one of the best weapons Trousdale County had since most of the smaller schools they played did not have a band and it caused confusion when the Jackets were on D. Especially in close games when the Jackets had teams backed up on that end of the field. The other thing that is often overlooked by high school football fans is that regardless of the size of the band at your school several of those spectators have Jenny's and Johnnies playing those insturments and they did buy a ticket to hear them play and not just at halftime and when the team scores. Let me say if the coach asks you to stop playing when your on offense then you stop playing. Also if you attend high school football at the higher classifications in the TSSAA you will hear the same thing taking place at every game. One band plays while their team is on D and then the other plays while their team is on D. Constant crowd noise. Catch a game at Gallatin when they play HEndersonville and you can sometimes get confused into thinking you went to a football game and a concert broke out. I will close with this great win by the Jackets, keep on trucking, I hope to catch you guys play this season before the playoffs. :thumb:

I think the coaches should do a better job working with the band directors and drum majors. I would explain to them to rock and roll when the other team is behind center in the shotgun or any kicking formation. I'd also explain to them why not to do it when our guys are running plays.

the band has 1 responsibility an 1 only.no two! They are there to play national anthem and keep their team fired up.

    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
