On a positive note for GC #24 Polk ran the ball very well which would mean the oline did a good job as well. This was just a speed bump for a young team as long as you dont let it become a mountain. Kicking game looked good as well. Can some one explain why we didnt get the first onside kick?

 

I thought the Refs blew it. Their explanation is that the ball had to hit the ground in high school. Ball evidently does have to hit the ground.

 

The call that really hurt was the stop Giles finally made at the start of the 3rd. Lewis punted. Giles had the ball at the 6 first and 10 trailing by 10. Giles had a man run off in which left 10 on the field. He ran back on and the refs called the old 12 man rule. There were only 11 out there. Lewis faked the next play, Giles penalty, Lewis finally scored. Lewis up by 17.

 

Lewis still probably would have won but that call took it out of Giles.

Ball must hit the ground andtravel 10 yards before being touch by the kicking team, good call. On a different note this region will be unreal next year. Giles has tons coming back as well as Lewis, Fairview as well as Summitt, C'ville and East (but who knows what will happen there)

I hate to see us lose especially giving up 51 points.Had a chance to win district last night but it didnt work out.I guess my point is look on the bright side looks like if things play out we will be in Lewisburg the first round.Almost a home game.

Last night there was not only chaos in the district but the whole quad 2.

We can't do anything about lost opportunities but we can play a cleaner game. If we do that we can play a lot more football this year.

O'Conner has to go! The longer he is in this program the more we are going to suffer! Said it six months ago and no one listened. Can use all the young team blah blah blah but to do what he did then Hastings allow him back was not only a major distraction but will hang over us as long as he's here. I do give him credit and lots of it for turning the program around but him being here is taking it back to the level it was 10 years ago!

Please give us some reasons (real reasons not just I don't like him or he's mean). I would really like to hear why you think Giles Co. should get rid of him. OC has been nothing but good for Giles Co. In this case, what happened away from the field had very little to do with what happens on the field. I think I can confidently say that not one player has stopped during practice or a game to think about the Lincoln Co. deal. Its mostly just fans.

Big win for Lewis Co. The win propelled them into a 3 way tie for 2nd place with Page's upset of Marshall. After tiebreakers, Lewis Co. would be considered a district runner up if the playoffs started today, almost propelling them to a home game.

 

The Panthers may get a home game if Hickman Co. can

win next week and get into the playoffs. This would bump

Harpeth to quad 3 and Manassas would come visit

Howenwald. A lot to be decided.

I was hoping no one noticed my mistake. Typically with three way ties each team has beaten one of the three. This is a rare exception. Still looks like Marshall will be hosting Giles in a rematch.
