And if you had 40 kids with the same structure,OH NELLY

Well, you know I tell no lie!

With all honesty, it takes alot of time to prepare a kid to play above his ability. A coach doesn't have enough hours in a day, and you find few parents willing. Few youngsters are self motivating creatures, usually because they have no direction and/or support.

Mine may not be the best, but they will train to be and they'd better play to be....cause that's what it takes to survive

You mean all little towns aren't like that?

I'm sure you guys have some hard working dedicated kids, but you also have more talent in one year than most small rural publics will have in ten. I saw BB lose their best player early in the game and still beat you guys with about half the talent.Don't get me wrong, you guys have a great program ,but very few can match the talent. If Grace beats you guys,it won't be because of talent.

I recall guys getting up and feeding livestock at 5 am in order to make practice. These were some guys you never heard of but key players on the defense. I won't even get into what I saw single-wing centers go through from 1992 and earlier. I admit I hope this current group has that kind of work ethic, but you never really know for sure. Looks can be deceiving.

That was back in the day, very few kids have to work these days, its a petted society. When I grew up,going to school or some type of practice was a reward. Now its a job.

If players today would take a minute and think about all the kids not allowed to play or cant play due to physical limitations, they might see things a lil differently.

If most kids today had the responsibility of kids-of-old, they'd never make it.

Pujo, when you grew up they were still wearing leather helmets! Have yet to figure out how you can have kids so dang young! :roflol::roflol:

When I grew up,tons of kids never got the chance to play ball. I was lucky in that regard. I may have haad to walk 10 miles to practice, but you can believe,I never missed one.

We know all too well about that! (Hampton, Cloudland)

Just wondering, what's the enrollment of a "small school" in that area?

Red Boiling Springs graduated it's largest class in the history of the school last year with 50+ students I believe. I would guess we have an enrollment of maybe 150 to 160, and that is increased over the last few years since Clay County and Hermitage Springs has consolidated. When I graduated in 2005 I believe we were around 130 in enrollment.

Geeez! That enrollment isn't enough people to fill a McDonalds!

    • From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated
    • What coach in their right mind would want to come here and set theirself on fire to keep her warm.
    • Shoulder not going to the #### show .   Macon will name the score this year.
    • Plenty of time. The former coach was busy with family and disappeared all summer anyway. Obvious choice has the same family issues. First game is in March 2025.
