After three days of practice, I can say this team has more raw talent on the field than previous years. (No offense to our graduating seniors, of whom I think the world.) But, lots of the young guys have really stepped it up and look ready to assume starting spots. Got 75 out for spring practice, and the boys look hungry. It's obvious they been spending a lot of time at the dinner table and in the weight room.

It's gonna take some work, but ole CBP will have them fellers steamrollin once the season starts.redthumb.gif

I think you may want to watch out for Notre Dame this year. They have put together what I think may be the best coaching staff in the city. They are young but extremely athletic and might be one of the fastest teams you will see this year - top to bottom.

I'm happy to hear ND will be improved. But they better watch out! They got a free pass from the T$$AA last year on an ineligible player. And you can bet your whatever they wont get a pass if they beat Sequatchie. :roflolk: :roflolk: :roflolk:

If you don't want to read the long version, the short version is this:

The Eagles will be scary good next year, will be physically dominant, and will kick some arse.redthumb.gif

The long version:

Good hard spring practice, ending with a scrimmage against Central. Glad to report we came through with no significant injuries.

After losing 18 seniors and only returning 2-3 legitimate starters on each side of the ball, I think everybody was interested to see how we would look. We'll be starting 6-8 seniors, 5-6 juniors, and 6-8 sophomores, and a couple of freshmen will see some quality playing time; and, they ALL look good. I hear there are a couple of 8th graders that will come out in the summer that are also players. Not dis'in any of the previous Eagles, but we have more raw talent on the field now than ever before, and we are loaded for years to come. There are a lot of younger guys who have been working very hard in the shadow of some great Eagle alumni, and they have been paying attention too. The middle school will also be getting a big boost with Coach Roberson helping them with fundementals and technique.

So here is the official scouting report for all you hosers.:roflolk:

The guys up front on offense and defense are so big, strong, and smart that they will absolutely dominate the line of scrimmage against most of our opponents. It will be interesting to see how they stack up against Giles, Greenville, and Blackman, but I think they will do just fine.

Got a stable of running backs that will physically punish people. Just ask Coach Allen at Central.

There are several reliable receivers that are starting to click, and they will be just fine come fall. QB Reese Phillips will deliver the ball. All they have to do is be where they are supposed to be and catch the ball.

Good looking strong, fast, smart linebacker corps with room to rotate.

The DB's are solid and like to hit.

Haven't paid much attention to the kickers this spring, but we should be okay. Price don't kick much anyway.:roflolk:

Can't wait for July 9.

I don't give a rat's spit about the polk and blackman games from last year.We are here to talk about another Signal championship, and our gravy schedule. And just so you know, those two losses rest squarely on the shoulders of one person that has a difficult time abiding by the rules. I guess that's why Coach sent him packing. So, what's the first thing he did as Marion's head coach?!...HE CHEATED!!! Now go scratch, old man!

Old Pirate is wondering...........did he teach SM the art of cheating or did that Jasper coach jest learn more ways! LOPAO......

The birds will be found wanting.

In all 3 of those games feathers would fly. :popcorneater:
